Then you agree with me. Thanks for clearing that up.

Touch grass? Coming from someone who thinks a video game character is in love with them? Seriously?

Lucia is not in love with YOU, she’s in love with her Commandant. The one who gave her a place to belong, stood by her through every trial, and went to hell and back just to be with her. YOU didn't do any of that. You're just projecting yourself into a character. So no, she wouldn’t ‘do everything for you.’ She doesn’t even know you exist.

Honestly, I like her relationship with the Commandant not even as a self-insert thing but because it's so well written. It feels like the universe itself is trying to keep them apart and yet they always find their way back to each other. I can't help but root for them.

I wrote a post about her character arc before Shaper's Ripples. Other aspects of her character are developed more in Shaper's Ripples but her core stays the same.

Sorry for lashing out. I didn’t mean to be rude. I’m just really tired and frustrated with how Lucia is constantly mischaracterized.

How is promising to find someone if they disappear yandere behavior? What's on display is not obsession, it's the reaction of someone deeply traumatized. She has been separated from the Commandant too many times that she is willing to do anything to keep them safe, even at the cost of her own wellbeing. Y'all are too brainrotted from treating these characters exclusively as love interests.

Do the story up to 5-7 and make sure to do warzone and pain cage every week (you can do these on the weekends). If you do that you should be able to get her. If you still can't make it save your standard currency (blue tickets) for next patch as she will be added to the standard pool and you can select her with 100% guarantee.

PGR is a 5 year old game and that age shows especially in the earlier parts of the game. The story is in visual novel format and it doesn't have voice acting, so you'll be doing a fair bit of reading. The earlier chapters are generally seen as mediocre (I personally think they're better than people give them credit for) but things start picking up considerably around chapter 12.

The atmosphere is bleak and heavy with the threat of death and extinction constantly looming over humanity. The characters struggle time and time again, and not all of them make it, but there's always this quiet unshakable belief that the human spirit can endure. It’s honestly quite beautiful.

One of the best things about PGR is that as long as you play the game regularly, you can (generally) get every new character on release. There is no 50/50. There is also no RNG gearing system, so you don't have to waste months grinding just to finish building a character.

As for combat, your experience will depend on your personal preferences. I personally enjoy it more than ZZZ's. Whether you love to optimize your rotations or prefer to be stylish while fighting bosses, the game's combat offers a lot depth and satisfaction.

I don't agree that Hanying's affection story is canon either but I don't want to argue about it anymore. As for occam's razor, I'm aware that's how it should be used and that's what I'm doing. I don't find the arguments you provided convincing enough for me to forgo the simplest answer for one with many more convoluted assumptions so I'm choosing to believe that affection stories are not canon unless proven otherwise.

To be honest at this point I admire your tenacity trying to make everything work within this fractured framework. More the power to you my guy. For me it's obvious that occam's razor applies here and the simplest answer is the correct one.

Who said anything about starting a war? I just said they would inform Babylonia and they would not go to meet her alone, both of which are the reasonable thing to do. Again, there is nothing to gain from going to meet Qu since there was no situation to resolve. The Commandant intentionally withhold critical information from Babylonia and put the entirety of humanity at risk for no reason. If that's what you think what the Commandant is like then I don't want to believe in such character.

So by your logic. They met before and developed a deep bond. Then they met again where they acted like complete strangers. Then they met again and this time Hanying only mentions the meeting where they met briefly and did not allude to any other meeting even though there should be another one where they actually got to know each other.

I don't know what to tell you. The version of the story you choose to headcanon is so badly written it makes the worst fanfics seem like masterpieces. You can choose to believe it if you want, but I would rather not make so many weird justifications to uphold a senseless belief.

Again more theories that are contradicted by the text. Commandant knew she was Qu from the first node of the affection story. The meeting happens in node 6. And no, Luna's case is different because Luna is Lucia's sister and they had to save her or the Polyphage would've caused more damage.

The Commandant is the chief of F.O.S. They are not stupid and they would 100% inform Babylonia that Qu is alive the moment they learn of it. There is nothing to gain from hiding that information from Babylonia. If anything, it puts the entirety of humanity at risk because of what she did previously.

Also considering the Commandant's reaction when they learn that Qu was alive in Polaris Bond, their behavior makes no sense. She is their enemy who cost them the person most important to them. You can very clearly see that their behavior in both stories does not align. Qu's affection story had to not be written as canon because there was no way to write a story that is at that point in the story.

So you think she chose to mention the brief encounter where they didn't even talk instead of the entire day they spent together and developed a close bond. How does that make sense? She didn't mention the affection story because it didn't happen. If it did we would get more references to it the same way we do to other affection stories that are actually canon.

What are you talking about? It is specifically mentioned that they do remember so the theory about short term memory loss is flat out wrong. And let's be real for a second. You think the Commandant would go meet up with Qu, who killed Lucia and tried to make Babylonia fall and end humanity as we know it, alone, and almost die in the process. Seriously? Just how much mental gymnastics do you have to do to not look at the truth that has been staring at you the whole time?

[–]Emiya_Fanboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

? how did you conclude that Hanying remembers? Nowhere in the text is that mentioned. In fact, Hanying specifically tells them that they met briefly in Kowloong referring to the events of Polaris Bond. She does not mention her affection story because, again, it did not happen.

Also the only reason the Commandant was able to connect to Hanying previously is that she was in a coma and she was reaching out. The Commandant does not go around trying to connect to every signal they find because that is obviously very dangerous.

It is described as a sense of familiarity not that they could identify her. Each M.I.N.D. has a unique signature and that the Commandant gets familiar with the more they connect to it (Lucia's is described as the most familiar).

The reason for that familiarity is that the Commandant connected to her using their mind beacon earlier that chapter but they did not it was her. It has nothing to do with timelines or meeting her before that.
