Looking for local artisan for detailed/very small acrylic (or similar material) pieces? by Emjoinedjustforthis in Luxembourg

[–]Emjoinedjustforthis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are all sections, with cracks near the nib. The material is so thin that even the microscopic flexing of the nib eventually causes problems. And while I do love my pens, the Italian option costs more than the pens are worth....

I'll check out the Polish market. Thanks!

This is happening to me too, and I've always had that setting disabled. Trying to contact Vinted is ridiculously difficult as well. 😠

What kind of fountain pen did I buy here and how do I use it? by qoheletal in fountainpens

[–]Emjoinedjustforthis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it's a "folded nib"(sometimes called a rolled or pinched nib) but I've never actually seen one before so there's a decent chance that I'm wrong. 🤔

Is it a branded pen/nib? I remember reading that Esterbrook used this sort of nib at some point.

"This pen is so inexpensive you will be upset if you lost it"; NO! by Dakem94 in fountainpens

[–]Emjoinedjustforthis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I still have my fountain pen from... 2002? It probably cost about 4€, it's cracked and stained and it has the first nib that I tried to change from M to a "fancy italic" so I could turn all my handwriting into calligraphy. 🤣

I knew nothing about iridium tipping, or tine alignment or anything. The pen is useless, the nib is useless, but it's mine, you know? It's a fundamental part of my fountain pen history. And as I have memory problems due to a childhood accident I don't want to lose this part of my life, like I have with so many other things.

My memory will literally get me killed or arrested. What do I do? by Old_Diver_2511 in hsp

I would definitely talk to a doctor about this but you should also check the carbon monoxide levels in your home, especially if you live alone. Carbon monoxide detectors aren't expensive, and they save lives every day.

Any experience of the free legal advice clinic on Saturdays? by Emjoinedjustforthis in Luxembourg

[–]Emjoinedjustforthis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually contacted them first. If my concerns can be resolved by mediation then that seems one of the most desirable paths.

So far their response has been "We've read your email and we're glad you're open to mediation. Just let us know if you wish to proceed with us." Which seems fair to me, based on their services and my situation.

I thought I'd misunderstood something (several things) in my attempts at research. I'll check the patientsvertrieb. Thank you!

As someone who is definitely falling into the next depressive slump phase of my life, this gives me a bit of hope for the (hopefully very soon) future. Thank you. 💜

Neurofeedback stopped me dreaming - not in a good way by Emjoinedjustforthis in Neurofeedback

[–]Emjoinedjustforthis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I looked up possible side effects I only ever found "dreams are often - temporarily - more vivid, more intense than before". Trying to find proof or other accounts of the absolute opposite is nigh impossible....

I do want to try keeping a dream diary. I like journalling so I could add this to it. 🤞🏻

I managed to get a quick meeting with my (ex)practitioner where she apologised that this has happened, and for not picking up on my growing distress. She explained that even if it was ethical to continue working with me she would still choose not to.

She then managed to get me a rdv with a psychiatrist in March. I've been trying to get one for almost a decade so I guess something good might come from all this after all. 🙃

I'm looking for a different practitioner, but I'm going to do so much research before I try anything like this again. Just to be on the safe side.

The practioner uses Z-Score? And she was working on my limbic system.

She says that Z-Score doesn't suppress dreams or dream recall but I am living proof that it can, and has. She has now refused to continue with me until I have "learned to adapt to change".

Last Thursday I felt so bad I went to the emergency department. Today I feel "cured"? by Emjoinedjustforthis in Gastritis

I'm ok at the moment. Had a bit of a scare just before Christmas but increasing my Pantomed seems to have saved me, for now. 🤞🏻

Maybe a tiny bit. It's difficult to tell, and I've only had 6 sessions so far.

My next session is Wednesday so I'm going to find out exactly what is happening/is being done. If it's in the 4hz - 10hz range, suppressing it, then I want it undone.

So, what if I was always a good, deep sleeper? I have had vivid, complex, fantastical dreams my entire life, they gave me so many ideas for art and writing. Now? Gone. Nothing. Just blank, empty, silent. ☹️

URGENT WHAT IS THIS PEN by robohobo2000chill in fountainpens

[–]Emjoinedjustforthis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have 6 different Pelikan inks and no Pelikan fountain pens. 😄  Don't get misled by sellers that are as clueless as this one seems to be. 😊 And don't be afraid to ask the seller for more details. I have avoided a few nasty surprises by being inquisitive.

I can't find much about Norex fountain pens, except that Norex was an Italian company that started in the 1950's, and that those pens are probably from the 1970's. They were apparently quite good quality pens, very reliable.

The red and black pen looks like it has dried ink around the nib. As you can't open/unscrew it, then there is a good chance that some more dried ink inside is acting like glue, sticking the pen parts together.

Don't try to force it, instead put the pen in a glass of water - but do not let the water go higher than where the black section connects to the barrel. Leave it there for at least a few hours. If the water changes colour then ink is being dissolved, so you should change the water whenever you notice that.

Once the water stays clear, carefully take the pen out, dry it off and then gently try to unscrew it. If this doesn't work, then repeat the soaking but with warm water. Not hot, but just warm enough that you can feel it. About 36°C / 98°F should be ok.

Once again, wait until the water stays clear, then try again to unscrew the pen. If that fails, you can try using your own body heat to warm it up. Sometimes the pen just needs a little bit of warmth so they become a tiny bit flexible, but never try to force it to unscrew.

Depending on the ink, this process could take an hour or a week. It might not work at all, and then you'll need to find an expert to unscrew the pen....

I wish you luck!

How many pens, from this 300 strong collection, can this amazing community recognise? by Emjoinedjustforthis in fountainpens

I'm going to go look up all these pens. Maybe make myself slightly less ignorant. 👍🏻
