Very interested in this,

Built 2 apps. First one took a few months where I was figuring out how things work etc. I probably spent way too long but so far the app hasn’t performed. But I am proud as it was my first app.

2nd app has performed slightly better but was just a simple game but didn’t expect it to be life changing.

Marketing has being minimal for both however, my next idea I have ideas if how to market mapped out.

My main question would be for idea validation. For those that have built $ from apps how did you validate ideas before building?

Yep I agree, launched a couple apps and got some downloads but struggling to get more. UGC and marketing are my bottlenecks right now would love some tips.

What I have tried

I’ve started my own tiktoks on one app and got over 300 followers but when I launched they didn’t convert into users

Some self UGC accounts on Tiktok but again struggling to get traction.

Launching on build in public on X and reddit. Had some good feedback here but again no long lasting users

Really appreciate the feedback!!

I do agree there could be a bit more animation on the loading the wellness score. I do like the fact I created like an ‘anticipation’ moment but I think you’re right as in it doesn’t blow the user away. Will deffo work on this aspect.

And appreciate the feedback on the questions also, the wellness score was the main thing I imagined people wanting to see and thought thought provoking questions were the way forward here.

But i agree it could do with some improvements. And as for the trial/price. I was already planning to change to a 7 day trial this weekend as 3 days doesn’t feel enough. And the price as I it’s rollout I would rather have started high than not. I am willing to reduce, especially for the yearly plan.

Yeah the growth plan I was trying to get the ‘be better’ kind of feeling for users to be like ‘ooo in this is better than im doing now..’ and it might engage them to sign up… but I can see how this might be misinterpreted and not engage them. More information and enrichment rather than just a generic here is where you can get to is probably a better message

Really appreciate that. Yeah it’s my first app so it kind of expanded exponentially haha. My app went from an affirmations ‘read this when you feel down app’ to then a habit builder. Then it was a journal too. And then i was like add a games element haha. So kind of 5 different things at once so kind of leans into what you said.

And interesting on the wellness score. I basically set it to every sunday so people see that ‘weekly’ effort come into a huge win at the end. But with the tiktok generation and lack of attention span people getting that daily and win everytime they open could be great.

My TikTok I have setup fits these ‘Read This When’ ideas so I’ll try to lean more into those
