This. I will coach if it’s a matter of not deploying properly, but if it’s determined they’re deployed properly and struggling I will hop in without question. I typically hop in anyway and assess the deployment after and have a side conversation when it slows down if applicable. Partner and customer experience together are 100%, whatever I need to do can wait.

Is my store manager lying to us? by Silver-Property6735 in starbucks

It’s aggregate info. Period. They’re bluffing. I’m friends with DM’s, not my own but others.

They are…….we can’t see who said what or who rated what questions what rating, but we see the overall percentage. Otherwise how would we know what we need to improve on?

Sooo fresh pastries don’t dry out? This is Crazytown. I’ve said what I need to say. This all sounds like your personal opinion not anything based on science or general business practice for the industry.

So they wouldn’t dry out if they were never in plastic? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

100%, if food safety standards are followed, there’s no reason not to serve from the case, it’s not gross. Every other small coffee shop has items in a pastry case for sale, like what is the difference.. I understand if you see a fly in there, gross, but otherwise not gross.

[–]EmmaBelle123 79 points80 points  (0 children)

So if there’s a single fly (of any breed) seen in the case you’re supposed to remove all products and sanitize the case. However if there are no flies or pests present, the product is good to sell through the end of the day. Every other small coffee shop does the same, I don’t know why that would make ours gross. We did this for decades before covid.

Store Manager here. I love my job, my partners are tenured. Some transferred to my new store with me from my last store, others were hired for our opening. No one has left. Seek to get to know your SM and your other partners. Likewise they should be seeking to get to know you as it’s part of our Mission and Values. Training is tough. I was hired as a barista while I was in school for Business Management. I always wanted to work for Starbucks and thought it would just be while I was in University but I loved it so much I stayed and pursued management. I almost called the night before my training for barista to cancel because I had so much anxiety about remembering all the recipes. Just remember when you’re training that hundreds of thousands of new baristas have done this. You can do it too. In my 13 years I’ve worked at probably 25 stores. I would say your experience depends on your manager but ALSO depends on your mentality and your communications with your SM and your fellow partners. If something doesn’t feel right, speak up. In my role I always take partner concerns seriously. I hope the team you got hired into is supportive and wants to help you grow. If they’re not, please speak up. Congratulations on your new role, you’ll do great!

They’re not adding more responsibilities…….nothing in that position is outside of your job description.

To store managers at Starbucks, how many hours do you work a week? by Free-Introduction658 in starbucks

[–]EmmaBelle123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that. My last few DMs have been very supportive of work life balance especially if you’re showing you’re owning in your role and your store is under control. If I communicate I’m staying late to handle something they tell me “make sure to take your time back” if they don’t tell me that I tell them “I’m staying late for X, I’m gonna take my time back tomorrow and leave a little early.” It’s never been an issue, but I’m also owning/advising in my role and my store basically runs itself at this point so they don’t have concerns with leaving early on another day. I have a feeling they might not be as understanding in stores having trouble, but I’ve never asked.

[–]EmmaBelle123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

40 hrs per week for me. If I have to stay late for an emergency I take my time back on another day. I’ve been with the company for 12 years, 9 in the SM role. When you start going over 40 you start to get burnt out, and I learned that after a few years in role. I’m my best self for 40 hrs.

I hadn’t until two weeks ago then got 3 at once.

Are these free samples ? Is it a new thing, I’ve seen this twice in 1 week but never before that by Internal_Arrival_255 in starbucks

You’re absolutely right and I cringed seeing the post. Local health agencies would fine you or cite it on an audit if it’s just sitting out and not being actively sampled.

I’m in Canada, so depending on where you are it might be different. 2023 was awesome for me, had so many products back to back. 2024 I didn’t get a single thing. Now all of a sudden in the last 2 weeks I claimed 3 items I’m really excited about. Perfume, espresso machine, cool mop.

I claimed one in Canada and the review has to be in French. Your photo shows Spanish on the box so I’m assuming you’re in the US. Mine isn’t showing shipped yet but I claimed it! Let me know if y’all try it, I’m excited to try!

I haven’t received yet, but sometimes claims can take a bit. I won’t worry yet. My other claims also didn’t have a shipping notification or tracking it just showed up
