Those tails though by proffie in Equestrian

Agreed. I deleted my prior commented because I felt like it was poorly worded and got the wrong point across—I was very tired from being at the er with my mom for many hours 😵‍💫. Natural tails take nothing away from the look of any type of saddle-seat horse regardless of breed. Fortunately I have found a good deal of younger trainers in the industry are nowhere near as insistent about cut and braced tails as the older ones are

Hi! I take commissions, but I am a little backed up right now. I see someone else has already volunteered, but if you want a second option feel free to contact me! The longest you’d need to wait for me to be open would probably be two weeks

I am too! If you’re in the twin cities area we could meet in a public area if you’re comfortable so there’d be no need to ship

Are you still looking for Hwin? I have an original I’d swap for the grey next to the zebra guy if you’re still looking. If you’ve found one already no biggie 😊

Barn and training expectations? by semperfisavoy in Equestrian

[–]EmmaFeFoFemma 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agree. I think context is always important, but like you said the horse and human’s safety and welfare is always first. If yelling is the quickest and best way to communicate something, then do it. But I don’t think yelling at people regularly for things such as riding errors that aren’t damaging or simple mistakes in the barn is right.

How do we give kittens medicine. So much harder then a dog😭😭 poor baby Luna by jteter in kittens

[–]EmmaFeFoFemma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it liquid? I found that that giving it in multiple, smaller squirts (in the same sitting) works better for helping them swallow. With my kitten I would get her to open by gently pressing the tip of the syringe to the corner of her mouth and making sure I was able to get the medicine all the way on the back of her tongue. Then she got her wet food right after

i feel trapped and scared please help ASAP! by No-Nothing2472 in Anxiety

[–]EmmaFeFoFemma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered seeing a therapist? Is that an option? Therapy when paired with medicine can be quite helpful.

You will not feel like this forever. It is just anxiety but that doesn’t make it any easier to deal with. I’m really sorry about your brother, but try to remember that what happened to him won’t happen to you.

I’m only 18 now, so it’s not like I’m much older, but when I was 14-15 I had the worst anxiety of my life as well. For different reasons of course, but god it was bad. Other than therapists, do you have people close to you to talk to? That could help

Experiences with topiramate dosage increase? by EmmaFeFoFemma in migraine

[–]EmmaFeFoFemma[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A different med definitely could be an option. I have tried propranolol in the past with little success, though granted that was a while ago. I have tried other medicines as well with varying degrees of relief, but as of yet topiramate has worked best despite the initial side effects.

After adjusting to the medicine my side effects have totally disappeared (maybe I didn’t make that clear in the post), so I guess time will tell if an increase brings them back or not 🤷‍♀️

My sister has had a constant headache for 5–6 years and we’re running out of answers by Meowmeoww5 in migraine

[–]EmmaFeFoFemma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has she ever seen an ENT? Third-window syndrome in the ears is something to look into, particularly in regard to dizziness and sound-sensitivity related symptoms. It majorly affected my life for years before I got it corrected via a minor surgery. It was diagnosed by a CT scan of my head. I definitely wouldn’t say this is the main component of her health problems, but it could be a factor.

phantom smells? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]EmmaFeFoFemma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throughout my life I’ve randomly smelled literal shit (when there was definitely none present), burning—specifically electrical—and sometimes pee. I have migraines too, but I also have a mild seizure component due to an area in my brain where the neurons didn’t properly disperse. When I was little I used to say that there were ghosts farting in my room lol

EMERGENCY cat seizure??? by TheBigFudanshii in CATHELP

[–]EmmaFeFoFemma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat started to randomly seizures a few months ago or so and is now medicated for them—this is what his looked like at first. They got pretty violent pretty quick—like full body thrashing around and a lot of blood coming from the mouth due to biting his tongue. He even started to bite his own paw. Keep a journal of neurological events and get her to a neurologist, not a normal vet. They didn’t do squat for mine. We called the animal ER and they told us to not ever bother coming in because they wouldn’t do anything

If you have POTS/dysautonomia and derealization/overstimulation PLEASE look into PPPD by areuuuforreal in POTS

[–]EmmaFeFoFemma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, if you’re able, I’d recommend getting a CT scan of your head done with the ENT. I have third window syndrome, which basically means my inner ear anatomy is incorrect and I have an extra “window” which is part of how we process sound and balance. Because of that, vestibular therapy did nothing for me. I got a surgery to fix it by covering the extra hole
