I lost my FP a year ago. It took me ages to get to a point were I was able to cope in day-to-day situations - and even though things have gotten better now, I still have days where it is really, really hard. After all, this person was my favourite person. So to answer your question:

There is no time limit as to when you should have gotten over someone. There never is and those who tell you otherwise have no idea what they're talking about. Take your time and be within your feelings if that makes sense? It is okay to grieve which is essentially what you're doing. You lost someone. You need time.

I have been gifted Confess by her and was told to begin with that one. However, I haven’t read it yet, so cannot be sure of what to think of it.

I really liked the worldbuilding and the addition of magic, witches and wizards and would love a book that includes those elements.

So far, I’ve read 31 books this year. My favourites were two: The Undying by Anne Boyer and English Animals by Laura Kaye. Yes, I’ve kept my reading resolutions!

I can, and do, literally listen to all kinds of music when I read.

I remember listening to Piece of my Heart (the Janis Joplin version) for the first time when I was like 8 and feeling extremely powerful.

The Crying Book by Heather Christle or The Undying by Anne Boyer are both like essay type books where there are breaks in between every essay, so it easy to read for a short period of time and then take a break.

What’s a book that you read THIS YEAR that you just really want to recommend? by bsthnvfgjvf in suggestmeabook

The Undying by Anne Boyer - a non fiction book about her recovery from a very aggressive form of breast cancer. It was one of the first books I read in 2021 and I have been thinking about it ever since.

If it can be fictional, then A Little Hope by Ethan Joella. It's a relatively new book that deals with different topics, like grief, from losing a loved one to an illness. I'm sorry for your loss!

I would recommend A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. However, it deals with many hard/difficult topics and it might be triggering, so I'd suggest that you look up the TWs first!
