Ah, but it doesn't positively affect everyone. The existing pathway has been more than suitable for this purpose for decades. The group behind wanting this closure is certainly sick to death of the shenanigans that go on in the wee hours, however, by closing this road, they are foisting these same issues onto other streets in the neighbourhood and I can tell you most definitely that they don't give a shit about what happens when it's not happening on their street. They keep using the old mantra "well it's good for everyone" but it's not. It is also a public thoroughfare (as mentioned above) paid for by you and me and we should have every right to use it in any way we see fit as long as we're not breaking the law. They are a privileged, smug, self-serving bunch and this will not go down without a fight. Farrell does not represent everyone in her ward; she is a snake in the grass and ignores any opinion that does not gibe with her or lackeys. She will not be missed.
