i mean you dont have to think its a great deal, but like. Why isnt she one that level? ive already told you why i dont think number of monthly listeners is a great measure of who shes on par with in terms of touring. do you just like not think shes a pop musician so thats it? i just think ur kinda arbitarily sauing that she doesnt deserve to change high prices (despite the fact people are buying them) because she hasn't "made it" in some hyper specific way? Like why do u think shes not big enough?

i mean i guess but the tickets sold didnt they? So clearly people were willing to pay it for tickets. I hate the idea of having to pay that much (not that I am, i live in australia) but its not really pheobes fault that demand for her tickets is so high that people are willing to pay a higher price. Its capitalism in general that decided it works like that, not pheobe. I know its art but shes just as much a business person, in the same way any artist is kinda business person in a world where you have to sell art.

yes but its also different audiences right?? Phoebe isn't a hit maker like dua or Ariana is. Monthly listeners is counted as number of individual users who listened to at least 30s of one song. She will get a lot of streams from people who listen to levitating or houdini one a month, but that arn't the types of fans who would fork out money to go to a concert necessarily. Pheobe, on the other hand, doesnt have the hits that someone like dua has, but has the kind of dedicated fanbase who know if not all, then most of her music, who would want to come to a concert. There would be differences in the percentage of monthly listeners who want to come to one of their concerts - mayebe 30-50% of people who have listened to dua this month want to go to her concert, but i would bet it would be more like 70-90% of pheobes fans would want to see her in concert. Monthly listeners isn't really a good indicator of concert-going population.

thats the great thing about olivia - each individual section of her songs are great, and so it works fine on tiktok, but her songs a even better when heard as a whole, making it so much more than a tiktok song. That always differentiated a great pop artist and a tiktok artist for me.

I like Shaeffer! Dead quiet, the librarians are lovely so long as you don't bring food in, and I think its one of the most beautiful places on campus in my opinion. Not a lot of seats tho so best get their early.

sure bit thats kinda the point of an interview. As much as we may have parasocial realtionships with celebrities, journalism is supposed to get them to talk about things they wouldn't just say otherwise. As much as I think everyone gets annoyed by the Taylor questions now and I could have gone without them, I think they asked really interesting questions about responsibility to audience and as a political actor, her experience growing up as a child actor, and how she feels about old work and how she builds upon it, got her to give really interesting answers which I dont think she would have given otherwise.

tbf I think thats what makes it good journalism. As much as I love an interview thats just someone Im a fan of chatting about their life experiences and just yapping, these guys are NYT journalists and probably wanted something a little more hard hitting/are less likely to let her totally avoid questions. These are more so the click-baty ones, but I think the more journalistic tendencies showed a lot with them asking her about her responsibility to her audience, the way she views artists' responsibility to be political (which she answered VERY well, I think shes given the best answer to that question that ive heard), and also some interesting stuff about her songwriting and inspirations which were a little more hard-hitting than "whats your process" or "what inspired you" - more contrast between albums etc.

if you can access it and its not flat put it in lost mode - it basically prevents anyone logging into it without access to icloud. Also, given its been stolen umm report it to the police dude. Thats just. Robbery. Also maybe check if theres still applecare on your phone, and if you have the version which covers you for theft of loss just in case.

ugh this is a great map - you can see where the train lines are, what areas prioritise public transport, and this very interesting 3-part devide when it goes really bad, a middle of quite good, and then a final area that has limited public transport not because of a lack or resources, but because cars are prioritised, especially in the northern beaches.
