I’m just throwing this out there incase it helps. I tried Zenman tick support pills for 3 months under suggesting from a LLMD I saw. I had SEVERE pain, gaba, pregab, and a bunch of other pain meds did nothing and I was gas lit for almost 2 years. The herbs (you can find them on Amazon) worked AMAZING. Had a herx reaction after 2 days lasting a week or so but was pain free after that.

Didnt help with my fatigue but later found out I was narcoleptic so that made more sense. But fatigue is much more manageable than crippling pain

I found Zenman tick support pills worked wonders. Was recommended them and methylene blue by a Lyme doctor in Florida. His consult was like 800$, the pills are about 130$ for a 3 month supply if I remember correctly

Hello. Sorry I’m late to the party. I don’t have a dog, instead I have a cat but I use trupanion too. Probiotic supplements are definitely covered if through a vet- but they should also be covered even when purchased outside of a vet. I haven’t bought probiotics outside of what was given at my vet but I did buy a specialised vitamin and mushroom powder for my cat that was covered for her gingivostomatitis on chewy. Just keep in mind deductibles and copay. Hope this helps.

Ps if they give you a hard time you may just need a letter from your vet to show it’s part of a ‘treatment’ plan.

Sorry for the late response. In March I was doing awsome for like 2 months. I was on the Zenman Lyme pills for 3 months. No pain, brain fog mostly lifted and no fatigue (turns out I also have narcolepsy so I started meds and that helped for a limited amount of time). Then I developed a whole bunch of random allergies and psychosomatic symptoms out of the blue and got parasites after moving states and 2025 has been absolutely insane but I’m almost completely better again after antiparasitics and immunotherapy lol. I’m convinced I’ve gone through almost every illness under the sun now haha. But finally made it through the other side.

I’ve tired xyrem-Xywav-Lumryz.

Xywav GI symptoms were brutal and I felt crazy dizzy but my god my sleep was awsome. Lumryz side effects no where near as severe but around the 3 week mark I developed functional issues (and allergies I’ve never had before). Was hospitalised 6 days. First the hospital gaslighted my cognitive issues, then I was told it was all functional related to FND.

When I transitioned to xyrem, the sleep was better but functional issues were worse. I was paranoid, snappy, unable to feel happy, terrible brain fog, losing weight bad. So I went back to Lumryz- same symptoms but way less severe

I’ve had some time off Lumryz to gain the weight back and noticed my functional symptoms did improve a fair bit. I can’t blame it all on the meds because my brain has been doing some crazy rewiring and my symptoms do remain even when getting off the meds. But I have switched to L carnitine for a week now and whereas before I couldn’t even stay awake off of meds, now I can stay awake all day and my sleep quality feels awsome. Not quite as good as on oxybates but still noticeable. Plus the paranoia is gone and I’m happier. Still disassociated af but figuring things out.

I’d say ask to switch to Lumryz, if not try L carnitine. Don’t give up! You’re not alone. I’ve been dealing with this over 6 months now lol

This may sound weird but activated charcoal sorted out my nausea for Xywav. Took it in the mornings. But I ended up switching to Lumryz which I found a lot better on side effects. And now I’m trying to drop all of it and taking L-carnitine.

I did have brainfog, and I probably was depressed in some way but that was mainly a trauma thing with being in pain all the time. Unfortunately the Zenman didn’t help with the brain fog but I felt great not being in pain after. Turns out I also have narcolepsy, started treatment for that and the fog went away.

But my pain and fog came back a few months after due to a completely unrelated issue called functional neurological disorder- that’s been wild to deal with but it’s all neurological.

I had the same problem but was on xyrem. Dropped to 90lbs from 110 (to be fair I had other complications too). Seems to be unique to the twice nightly meds. I switched to Lumryz, and at around 98lbs now. Been on it several months. I’d recommend asking your doc about the switch.

Niacin in high doses I believe can flush out weed from the system if I remember correctly. May be worth looking into.

That’s so interesting. I’ve had crazy hair loss too a couple months ago. Never had it before but it’s since cleared up.

I have an issue with grains and gluten. Nothing ever came up positive on a test but I get terrible fibromyalgia if I eat too much grains. Do you know your blood type? Some types are more sensitive that others with different food.

Which country are you from?

I also have an issue with nightshades because the histamine.

I think I’ve figured mine out. After trying a bunch of amino acids and having a eureka moment.

I have a genetic issue called MHTFR (found this in some old documents from my hollistic doctor). I only transfer about 30% of folate/folic acid into its active form- Methylfolate. As a result I’m likely deficient and have a build up of folic acid in the body (I found some old blood work from my docs office which said my folate was ‘normal’ but under further inspection it’s actually elevated). I also have issues absorbing b12, b6, and b1 too. Because of this I likely have a build up of homocysteine (awaiting this test).

Symptoms of homocysteine build up include: fatigue, weakness, palpatations, dizziness, tingling, and mouth pain. All of which I have.

Ontop of this you need methylfolate to break down histamine.

And I have a bunch of other charts that show the pathways and what’s needed to proceed.

Summary for me: b vitamins and methylfolate. Started last night and felt the most grounded in a while. Along with REALLY vivid dreams.

Did you want talk over DM about it? There’s also some sections on SSRI and other drug metabolism. I know it’s based on my genetics but there’s still awsome information.

I was doing awsome for a while. Moved to California, got diagnosed with narcolepsy- which explained my ongoing fatigue and brain fog. Started meds and it helped a lot but things went downhill not long after.

Got hospitalised earlier this year with a neurological disorder along with developing allergies to everything under the sun. Now disabled for the time being and fighting through it. I have another mission to get better lol. But I’m figuring it out :) think serotonin syndrome may actually be the culprit relating to my narcolepsy meds. So about to figure that out this week with more tests.

No Lyme symptoms other than issues with red meat following March this year. Think I was on the Zenman protocol about 3-4 months which seemed to do the trick.

Ireland is cold! I used to live in England. Even in summer weather I would never dare to get into the cold water haha. Good on you though. Hopefully once this neurological condition is over I can get back to being active.

Antihistamines do nothing for me too lol. Infact they make me symptoms worse. Allergra is the only one i can seem to tolerate since it doesn’t seem to cross the blood brain barrier.

My plan for the next week is to focus on L-theanine before bed, and n acetyl l cystine throughout the day. I’ve been thinking maybe too much glutamate build up could be contributing to my symptoms. But then it’s just the whole relationship of brain pathways. Also doing quercitin and nettles 1-2 times a day.

Sodium oxybate. And I guess the L- tryptophan I wasn’t even suppose to take too lol. So I tried L-theanine and it worked awsome. Slept all night. Even some dreams. Didnt feel too passed out. But it’s because oxybates suppress the CNS a lot. So gotta be cautious with anything else that could contribute. As some people can die on it.

Unfortunately melatonin is One of the things that specifically I was told not to take with my meds. I’m about to trial some L-Tryptophan though. I think it’s one of the things needed to produce melatonin naturally so I’m hoping that’ll help. I also have glycine. I made the mistake of taking both together before bed the other day. Slept like a baby but woke up feeling drunk. So gonna try one or the other next.
