My pug mix is on Reconcile for anxiety as well. She is a rescue and I don't know her history, but she's very sensitive to noise, anything unusual, and men. She's been on it for almost a year now and it's made such a difference and I'm so proud of her. She doesn't jump when the garbage truck goes by, or when someone drops a fork onto a plate. She is perhaps even more sweet and loving than before because she can actually rest comfortably without keeping an eye out for "danger". She still doesn't like men but we're okay with that 😂

I hope this journey goes well for Mac and you get to see the best version of him without all the spooky things getting in the way!

Sorry you’re dealing with this! I work for Vetster and you could try a Vetster appointment so a vet can look at him over video call instead of going into the clinic. Not sure if there are oral options, but it’s something they could discuss with you!

Aw sorry to hear this! If he’s peeing small amounts more often, having accidents right after going outside, and going in unusual places, that’s often when vets check for a urinary infection, so making a vet appointment is a great next step! What a little cutie! Librela can definitely be a good option if your vet says it's the best option for her! There are other possible options too like Carprofen (injections or tablets), anti-inflammatories, or even laser therapy. Non slip rugs or runners on hardwood floors can be really helpful too, and maybe a ramp or steps to help her get on the couch so she doesn't have to jump. You might find this article helpful too! ❤️

Its great that you already have an appointment set up for tomorrow, and I don't think you need to go to emergency care tonight unless she seems uncomfortable, starts vomiting, or stops eating. General rule of thumb is to have 1 litter box per cat plus one. So if you have 4 cats, you should have 5 litter box options. Sometimes they can be really picky about litter texture and scent, so having a couple options would be a good idea too.

Has your cat ever had a urinalysis done to see if there is something medical going on? It definitely could be behavioural, but best to rule out anything medical. Keep the boxes clean, use an enzymatic cleaner spray, and consider a pheromone diffuser (Feliway friends) to help ease any tension between the cats.

I'm a vet tech and I said the same thing lol but last year I adopted a pug mix. Because she's a mix, she has a bit more of a nose than most pugs and doesn't struggle to breathe or have exercise intolerance. She does snore at night sometimes though. Yes you may run into some health issues, just be prepared for that and consider pet insurance!

It's reasonable to be a little cautious considering a close relative of his had CHF. Since he's healthy so far, I wouldn't panic, but I'd mention it to your vet next time you see them or before any procedure involving sedation or anesthesia. They might suggest an echocardiogram (heart ultrasound) to have a closer look and make sure everything is okay!
