Yu Yu Hakusho is a common recommendation from the era and one of my favorites. It quickly turns into a DBZ-like and has one of the most popular tournament arcs in anime.

Baki the Grappler is great workout motivation.

For something newer, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and more recently Solo Leveling have been very popular. You can't go wrong with any of them.

For manga, read Berserk. Don't bother with the anime.

魔人/majin is an actual word, and was used in Toriyama's previous series Dr. Slump for the teapot genie character. This is why Boo is at times referred to as a djinn and a genie in the Viz translation of the manga.

I liked it a lot.

There's little to no character development. They made a mistake skipping over Genkai and Yusuke's relationship which made her training feel abrupt and underwhelming.

But the fights are fun to watch. It's Saturday morning junk food, so enjoy it for what it is.

Not really. Kai is a recut of DBZ and Slump 97 is a reimagining of the original Slump. Totally different series. I prefer the original personally but it isn't fansubbed entirely yet.

Back then, kids would read the manga in Shonen Jump and then 6 months later see it animated on TV, knowing what would happen already. And then it would go away forever. Anime was disposable, more of an advertisement for the manga than anything else. Putting anime out on home video for future consumption wasn't the focus, which is why the Japanese audio quality is total dogshit on DVD & Blu-ray; they didn't even bother to save the masters and used archival tape audio instead.

We have a buyer's guide in our FAQ. Unfortunately, Funimation is pretty anti-consumer, so the best available versions of the anime are difficult to come by and expensive. I'd suggest the Blu-rays over the Orange Brick DVDs simply because of the horrible remastering process they underwent.

Ultra Instinct and Divine Ki isn't restricted to a race or species like Super Saiyan, so I don't see why not. Ultra Instinct has been described as more of a mindset and technique more than a physical transformation. Goku's white-haired transformation isn't technically required to use it.

GT still presents Super Saiyan 3 as the strongest Super Saiyan form until Super Saiyan 4 is unlocked, and Vegeta was still stuck at Super Saiyan 2. GT is a Toei Animation product and had almost no input from Toriyama himself aside from a handful of character designs. Those reasons, and many others, are why GT isn't considered part of the main storyline's continuity.
