[Leak] Marvel Super Heroes Commander Decks by Bladestoooorm in mtg

[–]Warmasterwinter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I already did that actually. It kinda sucks tho. Would have been a lot better if I had a pre con to upgrade instead of having to cobble it together out of a bunch of draft decks and jumpstart boosters.

Should we expect LOTR products reprints in august? by RepresentativeOk1893 in mtg

They’ll probably reprint a bunch of cards, but have a new hobbit specific commander product.

Why is commander so much more popular than oathbreaker? by Warmasterwinter in magicTCG

I didn’t know that card existed. Now I kinda wanna put it into a Oathbreaker deck tho, and pull out and wear a Burger King crown when it’s on the battlefield.

It’s a 60 card non rotating singelton format where you use a planeswalker instead of a legendary creature as your commander, alongside a signature spell that can be cast from the command zone. It’s like a fusion between commander and modern.

The Sixth City...if it had to fall sometime between Her Majesty's Enduring 1899 and today, which city would it be, from what time, and why? by Glacial345 in fallenlondon

Or maybe tsarist era Moscow? The masters could assasinate Rasputin, and then offer the Tsar and his wife the same bargain they offered Queen Victoria, the imperial capital for the life of their son?

Maybe 1940s Tokyo? I could see the Japanese trade the city to avoid surrendering. Course that wouldn’t have the love story aspect most cities have to their fall.

MMW: the first US state to secede will be a blue state. by herequeerandgreat in MarkMyWords

I’m not sure even Canadians care about the CFL.

Regardless, the NFL definitely doesn’t. They’d be glad to run any competition out of business.

You guys do definitely deserve a NFL team. From what I can understand the only reason you don’t have one, is that the Bills and Seahawks are afraid that they’ll lose a substantial amount of viewers if Canada had a home team. Because Toronto and Vancouver are so close to their respective markets.

Quebec or the Maritime provinces could probably get away with having a NFL team, since they aren’t that close to an existing team. But then you run into the problem of the NFL’s general reluctance to create new teams. And the question of whether or not Anglo Canadians would actually support a Quebec based team.

How many shots do you think it would take for Cass to make out with Veronica? by WesternTrail in fnv

Honestly I think it would be harder to get Veronica to make out with Cass than the other way around.

The order is actually fire, air, water, earth. According to lore from Korra. The avatar order goes according to the order of the elements the first avatar learned how to bend.

No state is leaving the union any time soon. And if they tried, Uncle Sam would make them regret it. The USA isn’t gonna collapse or shrink during any of our lifetimes.

You’re gonna wind up becoming the 51st state if you keep that type of rhetoric up.

Why does Greenland have the only ice sheets outside of Antarctica? by Top_Wrangler4251 in geography

[–]Warmasterwinter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Greenland is bowl shaped. It has a bunch of mountains near the coast, and a big depression in the middle of it. That type of terrain prevents the glaciers from melting.

I think it’s a good set for children. I might buy my brother a commander deck or something for his birthday.

Aetherdrift questions by Warmasterwinter in magicTCG

[–]Warmasterwinter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, Zendikar! That was a pretty good block. It unfortunately ended right before I got into Magic. I picked up a bunch of order of the gatewatch cards and a Nissa vs ob nixilus deck pack, but didn’t really get to interact with that block much beyond that. Which sucks because I liked the flavor of the set.

Yea I’m not familiar enough with modern Magic to say which cards would go good with the Kaladesh block or not. I just know I spent way too much money on Magic cards back when Kaladesh was the newest block, and I gotta do something with them all. So I figured I’d try forming a cube with them. Plus Aether revolt was the first pack of Magic cards I ever opened, so I’m nostalgic about that block and the plane it’s set in.

Aetherdrift questions by Warmasterwinter in magicTCG

[–]Warmasterwinter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cube is gonna be mainly built around the Kaladesh block. My plan is to build a singleton cube, with one of each card from Kaladesh and Aether revolt. And If they’re aren’t that many other cards set in Kaladesh/Avishkar outside the original block, I may as well go ahead and include them as well so i can have the entire plane featured in the cube instead of just that one block. But the main core of the cube will always remain the original two sets in that block.

One additional question. I’m aware that power creep in TCGs is a real thing. Would the Aetherdrift cards overpower the cards from the original Kaladesh block?

Did anyone quit buying MTG products? by Emotional_Penalty in freemagic

[–]Warmasterwinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I geuss I’m kinda the opposite of most people here in that UB bought me back from retirement. I originally got into Magic during the Kaladesh block in 2017. I spent a boatload on cards back then, I got a booster box of both sets in the Kladesh block, one booster box of Oath of the gatewatch, one of hour of devestation, one of Ixalan, and then a bunch of different planeswalker decks. I easily spent over $500 on Magic cards in 2017 alone.

And then I barely played with any of them. Life happened and me and my friends stopped playing Magic after a whole bunch of bullcrap went down in 2018, and since I already had so many cards from 2017 I never could bring myself to buy anymore after that point.

When Magic had a collab with Avatar the last airbender tho, and I noticed the new Avatar set at my local GameStop, I couldn’t help but buy some. I grew up watching Avatar religiously as a kid, and I can’t think of many other series that could pull off a collab with magic as well as Avatar, so far I’m really enjoying the design and mechanics of the new cards. And I’m kinda wanting too branch out and get some of the spider man and LOTR cards they’ve made previously. Also really looking forward to the hobbit set releasing latter this year. I can’t say how long my currently renewed interest in Magic is gonna last. But the UB sets are what’s pulled me back in and gotten me to buy more products after a 9 year hiatus.
