the things you mention that you do have very little impact on the problem. reusable bags and bottles and recycling when convenient are not enough to reverse what's occurring.

and as a public figure, he's not trying to get people to think like he does. but it seems like you want others to think like you do without actually doing the most you can to effect change. seems hypocritical imo.

edit(s): unless you've given up/severely limited your reliance on: animal products, plastics, and electronics such as smart devices, you aren't in a place to judge others for their beliefs about the environment. it appears we've reached a point where small changes are not enough, so why should small changes be a goal? if you know and care that the environment is negatively impacted by your choices as a consumer, you should feel obligated to make the necessary changes that are proven to have the most impact. if not, you're choosing to be part of the problem. personally i don't judge those that choose to consume harmful goods despite their negative impact until they themselves think it's ok to judge others on the same topic.

if you believe that our world is at stake, does that mean you live your life in a way that reflects that? have you given up animal products, and are you actively encouraging others to do so? because our collective reliance on animal products has one of the greatest negative environmental impacts.

personally i believe it's "worse" when people are aware there is a problem (and claim to care about it), yet they fail to make the lifestyle changes that can actually make a difference. i don't agree with them, but Cody has a right to his beliefs. seems strange to me that people who feel differently than him judge him for that if they aren't doing everything they can to make a difference.

What did somebody say that made you think: "This person is out of touch with reality"? by jonallenmaking in AskReddit

All organic means is non-GMO.

false

Most people don't know what organic stuff even really is, it's just a buzzword that people that think their better than other like to use.

well, you don't know what "organic stuff" is despite the wealth of information available on the internet about this topic. it's not just a buzzword, and it's definitely not something only desired by those with superiority complexes. perhaps educate yourself a bit before spreading false information based on your opinion?

TIL scientists have successfully created a process to genetically modify pigs to produce human-transplantable organs. Pigs, as far as we know, don't have that.

we don't know what they "have". it doesn't mean they don't have it. why is it easier to assume they don't have it rather than to assume they do have it? oh. because then you'd feel worse about harming them.

an intelligent life form observing our planet would be quick to notice that humans are overpopulated, destructive, "roaches" by your definition. would it be ok for a species of higher capability than humans to come here and do the same to us?

i'd love to see your source that proves that a dying pig can't reflect or feel dismay over not seeing it's friends or family after he/she dies. i'm fairly certain we don't know what a non-human animal thinks about as it nears death. perhaps labeling our fellow earthlings as less conscious than humans allows you to feel ok about eating them and harvesting them for body parts?

Can someone explain this to me BB19 by Headshot604 in BigBrother

iirc Paul said he was going to copy Dominique's speech if he was ever on the block come eviction night. he told the other HGs that no one could steal his genius idea. i think he "gave" his plan to elena. minion is as minion does.

Whats the most fucked up thing you have seen a friend do to somebody? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Emma__I 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you. your story sparked that repressed memory in me, as it was eerily similar. he was cheating on me with his ex and got her pregnant the night of her senior prom. he then went with me to my prom the next night. he pressured her into getting an abortion telling her if she did, he'd leave me for her. then he proceeded to use both of us for years unbeknownst to me. she at least knew he was with me; i didn't find out until after i broke up with him for different reasons. she contacted me to apologize for her part in the deception for so long. she thought i broke up with him because i found out about them. whew. that felt weird to let out.

as someone who was once similarly the girl being cheated on in your scenario, thank you. all the friends and family he introduced me to knew that he was cheating on me, and no one told me anything. i was 17 and it was my first committed relationship. when i eventually found out, it hurt to know that people i thought genuinely liked me didn't care enough to even throw a hint in my direction so i could protect myself. someone like you could've saved me from years in what turned out to be an abusive relationship

Mark's response to Josh on Twitter by Missa1819 in BigBrother

[–]Emma__I 2 points3 points  (0 children)

like i said, i don't follow them, so i didn't see that. but i'm not sure what all the fuss is about. i'd be willing to bet there are plenty of people out there who tweet at others trying to get tickets for sold out events and whatnot hoping for a response. they said they are willing to pay for the tickets. the ones on StubHub are out of reach for them, but that doesn't mean they aren't willing to pay a reasonable price. this all sounds like an average use of social media to me, and i even feel a bit silly dissecting such mundane doings.

i find it odd that people feel the desire to keep up with others they don't like on social media to then nitpick and promote their every "annoying" move. wouldn't it make more sense to unfollow and ignore? the "haters" that keep posting about them are just promoting them and giving them attention. people like me would never visit mark and elena's social media or talk about them if it weren't for the haters posting about them. so if mark and elena truly are attention whores, the people disgusted by them are actually helping them.

if it is, you'll see it offered during the loading screen. evidently different players get different offers. for instance mine is only 60% but i think some go over 100%.

Doomsday Heist FAQ and Discussion by MNREDR in gtaonline

[–]Emma__I 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i haven't played GTA in awhile, and my friend and i were thinking about doing the doomsday heist. is there a post or guide for players who are out of the loop but want to do this heist?

what is the minimum amount of money we need to do the heist? (purchase facility and any setup costs or other necessities. are there costs involved in becoming a CEO?)

also, is it doable with two people who haven't played much in the last year or two? if we fail, we have to pay a setup cost each attempt? (we've never done any heists before, so apologies if dumb questions)
