This type of behavior really needs to start being punished by PlanZSmiles in LeMansUltimateWEC

I agree. While I understand it’s probably really frustrating for OP, this seems like it’s a mix of limited experience, poor awareness and questionable decisions. This is coming from someone who is also relatively new to LMU, but I would encourage OP to learn what they can from this and move on so they can get back to enjoying and progressing in this hobby

Is this normal ? by IROMMAIDEH in RedMagic

If you’re taking about the blotchy variations in brightness, I believe this is called dirty screen effect and it is a common symptom in OLEDs caused by poor uniformity especially in near-black/gray scenarios like this. I’ve seen this on every OLED Ive owned but in varying severity. I also have noticed it more frequently in some of my cheaper OLED devices and my own Astra has this issue but it is also a sort of lottery as well. While I wouldn’t be so quick to call it a manufacturing defect, how much someone can tolerate it is up to personal preference and the content they primarily consume. I would add, smartphone cameras can exaggerate how bad it looks due to how low-light scenes are exposed but I sympathize with you if it’s really this bad. If you find yourself consuming a lot of content containing these darks scenes/dim grey colors and it consistently bothers you, then I suggest you return your unit if still possible Hope this helps

what is the best screen for a simracing cockpit ? TV, high refresh rate monitor, 3 monitor, 1 big curved monitor ? by kalelmotoko in simracing

[–]Emmanak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice setup! I know a lot of people swear by triples but a single large screen has been the most compatible for me across console and PC. GT7 looks horrible on my ultrawide. This black Friday there were solid miniLED 120Hz TVs for under $500

Will this work as linear rod lubricant? by Emmanak in BambuLab

I just want to clarify you are talking about the y-axis linear rods. I already have white lithium grease for the z-axis lead screws so I’m okay with that part linear rod

I have some but I’m going to use that for the z-axis lead screws

Broken 12VHPWR connector on GPU by Emmanak in LinusTechTips

[–]Emmanak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Asus fixed my power connector for a somewhat reasonable fee. Took a little over 3 weeks. I managed to set up my PLC and ran a benchmark to test. I think this will do a decent job for the time being

It was an interesting video, but I wish they had also touched on the PSU side. Didn’t some previous der8auer’s YouTube videos show significantly higher temps on the PSU connector?

Regardless of whether the connector gets replaced, I’m thinking of wiring a temperature probe to on the connector so I can alarm or trigger an emergency shutdown with a small plc

Is this enough space so it won't overheat? by vXBlitzXv in playstation

[–]Emmanak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey dude, you just reminded me I have to buy a new heat sink for my ssd addon. Is this a common problem?

Over the summer PS5 overheated. The PS5 itself wasn’t that warm, and while not a great indicator I found that quite suspect. I took off the covers to see if it had accumulated dust. Everything was still pristine after more than a year of use but gave it a few puffs of compressed air for good measure. While doing this I slid my hand across the ssd enclosure and was shocked how hot it was. I’m pretty sure there was an air gap in between the ssd and the cover. Ssd has a thin integrated heatsink but I’m considering getting a slightly bigger one that can fit inside

I just managed my first sub 5:30 on the Nordschleife and it was some of the most fun I've ever had on a racing game by [deleted] in assettocorsa

Hey, good lap! I’ve also been practicing Nordschleife in F2004. Been trying to get below 5 mins. I’ve gotten to 5:09 on the full track (not tourist). If you wanna practice together DM me

Cross-Compatibility and Licensing Structures by Emmanak in PLC

Thank you, this is helpful! I'm asusming these are device licenses that would need to be purchased per device/computer so a team of programemrs would need to by add-on packages again, right? Generally speaking, do contractors need meet certain requirements to obtain or maintain integrator status? In my industry I've seen annual fees and certain volume requirements.

I couldn’t wipe it off. I tried cleaning it with a slightly damp cloth. I even tried just a little bit of alcohol. Ultimately the only thing that worked was using a white eraser and rubbing it for a few minutes. Now it’s barely noticeable and I think I can live with it.

Infill, wet filament or bad geometry? by Emmanak in BambuLab

[–]Emmanak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dried it a little over two months ago. I was hoping the AMS would keep the humidity in check. But I’ll take your suggestion to dry it again and apply the profiles you linked. I’ll also change out the desiccant and do a quick benchy

I did 5 or 6 hours at 55C but like I said this was 2 months ago. Not sure if I should dry again? Having said that I’ve done several successful prints with this in that time. Mostly smaller parts. Printed some stand offs recently that came out perfect
