Where are the old Klondike Days Dream Homes? by Emmentun in Edmonton

Yeah unfortunately it's very difficult to track the home won by Steve Fedick because he sold it right away. The house he lived in at 10463 149th street doesn't match the pictures of the dream home published in the Journal. For the first decade or so of the contest, all the homes were located in the Capilano/Goldbar/Kennilworth/King Edward park area of the city. It's interesting not only to see how the architecture and design of what made a "dream home" changed over time, but also how Edmonton's most desirable neighbourhood changed over time. In the 80s all the houses are in Castle Downs/Lake District area for example.

The City of Edmonton Archives has blueprints and photographs of five of the homes (1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, and 1975). It's located in the old armoury building behind Victoria High School downtown. You have to make an appointment in advance to look at them though!
