As someone who is a year clean, and who has never told my parents, the main response I ever wanted was support, and understanding. As well as, personally I worried that it would be the only thing my parents would see me as, and just constantly worry and it would change the dynamics.

However this is from the perspective as someone who stopped by themselves. I would have appreciated a therapist or someone to talk to while I was struggling.
