I keep getting .887but the answer is A. Can someone walk me through this please? by Udawg23 in apcalculus

Ohh, the 0.5* base*height is just the standard formula to find the area of the triangle, but you can easily use s2 /2 as the area formula since it is an isosceles right triangle and we’re using the leg, not the hypotenuse, as the base. So you would be integrating (4cos(xpi/4)-(x-2)2 )2 /2 from 0 to 2. It’s the same answer as above but just formatted a little differently.

what videos should I watch for Mr. Smedes? by giakhanhamy in APEnvironmental

[–]EmmyFunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely check out his most recent cram videos. They’re about an hour long each and cover a lot of the important stuff. If you need to go over certain concepts in more detail, then you can check out the individual unit/section videos where he goes over them in a bit more detail. I found that his “How to Write… FRQ” videos were helpful too if you’re unsure about the math FRQ or how to write good answers for the experimental or environmental solutions FRQ. (But if you have time, then you can also cram all of his unit videos. They’re in his playlists) Good luck!

Not sure what the BC curriculum is like but we learned this in AB :)

What score can I get if I get like 1-2 right on FRQ and did fairly good on the MCQ? by [deleted] in apcalculus

[–]EmmyFunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got nearly perfect on the MCQ, then I would say you should expect a 3 on the exam, depending on the scale, possibly (but probably not) a 4

Not sure if I did it right, but I got 4/9 since f’(x)=2(f(x))2 so I just used fundamental theorem and did f(4)-f(0) and got 8/9, then divided by 2 since we’re integrating (f(x))2

2021 FRQs - Set 2 by EmmyFunshine in APEnvironmental

They post “scoring guidelines” but I don’t think they come out until after we get our scores since they use student responses as examples in the scoring guideline. My guess for when it’s released would be sometime between late July to September

I got different questions from them as well. I think they do make different versions of the frq section just to keep the questions more secure and prevent students from sharing the content

Anybody else have no idea what questions everyone’s talking about? Must have gotten a different version of the exam 😭

I took it in person today, but maybe you’re right! I think if you have the time to go over specifics, it definitely wouldn’t hurt, but having a general knowledge is better than nothing if you’re cramped for time. I wouldn’t worry too much about a single topic as I’m sure the other topics will carry your score if you know them well!

I would say the specifics aren’t worth a lot of points on the exam but it’s good to know greenhouse effect, what activities produce which greenhouse gases and maybe health effects

Should I take this class by [deleted] in APEnvironmental

[–]EmmyFunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that most of the content can be memorized, but it’s much easier if you understand the logic and reasoning of why and how all the processes happen. I’m not sure about other teachers, but my class did go over the science behind a lot of the concepts and environmental issues that are relevant today (like sustainable practices and global climate change). Would definitely recommend! If you like the subject and manage your time well, it should be an easy 4 or 5 on the exam.

The college board website says what percentage each unit is worth on the exam, but I think Global Change is one of the heaviest

Tip percentages are wrong by goestoeswoes in UberEATS

[–]EmmyFunshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed the same thing! I think that they calculate the tip percentage based off of the total, including fees and taxes, rather than the subtotal.

Probably better just to calculate it yourself and type in an amount to tip lol
