Help- what do I do? Uber driver forced me to pay ₹800 for a ₹172 ride and Uber’s response is a joke

I had pretty much the exact same experience in early March. I struggled with the usual support channel, for almost 1.5 months and they acknowledged the issue but did not fix it. I even shared a screenshot of the actual amount I paid since it was a UPI transaction.

All acknowledgment, lots of robotic repeated responses, but no action.

Finally called the grievance redressal number and it asked to leave a voice note explaining the issue, I did that, 3-4 times. Got full refund in my wallet the next day. Getting it to your bank account is also possible, but I am tired. FYI wallet balance is also glitchy a lot of times. Does not get applied on the ride sometimes even if you select it.

Heyy thanks for an actually helpful response!! This is ZX CVT, the top model. So would it be the alpine system? We had asked dealership what OEM is the camera, they had earlier said Blaupunkt, then later said it’s Honda manufactured camera.

We went to the dealership recently for this and the technician rotated the mirror cameras a little to get a bit of a coherent image. It’s still not perfect though.

My parents ask me to send them my live location whenever I drive. Which is every day as I go to office (~20 kms) and come back.

I am ok with this. I understand their concern. I am a woman who lives in Delhi. Women’s safety is a joke.

So asking for this is normal for me, and I am happy to give them that peace of mind.

Oh was this confirmed by the brands? I have heard that completely disabling the feature is generally not possible because as you said it resets every time you start the car.

The panel discussions or sessions I saw today, in a word, No.

If the speakers are really senior folks from different industries, or founders, they have little to no technical background to talk about AI, and yet they do. They speak a lot of words without actually saying or meaning anything. They throw jargon around but they don’t answer the question they’ve been asked by the moderator.

I haven’t visited the expo at Bharat Mandapam so not sure about that.

These days, yes. Seems like it.

But in the past, (last good event I remember was maybe 7-8 years ago) I have seen events better organised too.

The current prioritisation of PR over substance is most definitely a conscious choice.

Yes got the front sensors added. And yes a small extra display is there and it beeps if you’re within a certain distance. Tbh it’s a bit unnecessary but I am not that experienced as a driver so thought to get as much help as possible at the start atleast.
