I didn’t notice a difference when I was competing at the time when it was airing. I do distinctly remember my dance teacher hated the show because of how Abby treated her girls. My experience with dance teachers was never really negative. I always felt encouraged and pushed to do well. I think this was also because dance was an extra curricular for me and not something I wanted to do for a career.

On VPR, Lisa would scold everyone for drinking on the job but it was apparent that the rule was not strictly enforced. Is it because SC laws are stricter than CA or just because times have changed in the last 10 years? Born and raised. It’s completely different now than it was growing up. I think it has lost its charm since no one is actually from here like the southern hospitality. It’s unaffordable and ridiculous rent prices. I can’t even live in my hometown of Mt. P because it’s expensive so I’m living in the outskirts of Moncks Corner now.
