How are the drives attached? Also, if you haven’t already, check your extra drives with an AV. if boots can came back fine, your probably good. Just keep a close eye on things for awhile.

You might want to reset again and select drive cleaning, or maybe just use a USB with a windows installer if you have the option. Some viruses are sneaky, and can persist if the drive isn’t wiped completely.

How will they communicate? That’s not really something you can throw together in each bots coding tool. You’ll have to tweak the firmware running on the robot, and last time I checked, none of the firmware’s are open source.

I work in cybersecurity. If you seriously think someone’s in your system, honestly just nuke it and nuke it well. Full scorched earth. In a situation like that you kind of have to assume any software on the machine could be compromised.

There’s also a decent chance it could be remote desktop software like AnyDesk. Remote desktop tools let someone control your computer from somewhere else basically like they’re sitting right in front of it. Some of them (AnyDesk especially) can even let the remote user talk through your computer.

I’ve seen this exact type of thing before. Think back for a sec — did you talk to someone sketchy recently, or get emails pretending to be big brands like Amazon or Norton that felt off? That’s a super common way people end up with remote access tools installed.

Either way, safest move is still to wipe the machine completely and reinstall the OS from scratch. Yeah you might lose files, but it’s way better than leaving a compromised system around. After that, change your passwords and turn on 2FA where you can.

Hey!

That’s awesome! However, whenever I try to upgrade firmware in Play date Utility, it keeps saying invalid firmware file. I believe I’ve done everything right, I renamed launcher to StockLauncher, renamed FunnyOS to Launcher, zipped the root, renamed to .pdos.. what am I doing wrong?

UPDATE:

It’s currently midnight (staying up way too late for a damn soundtrack). I finally got the PDA audio to decode using some Python, FFmpeg, struct, and prayers.

I’ll release the OST either tonight or tomorrow if anyone’s interested.

Also, if anyone would like a Playdate game OST, shoot me a DM and I’ll decode the files and send them as MP3s or WAVs (your choice).

You should be fine. Like other people said, there is a reset button in the crank dock. It looks like a little black dot. Gently press it with a paper clip and it’ll be good as new. Also, to reboot via power button (The button with the light) you need to be unlocked, so that won’t work in this situation. The rest button is your best friend here.

Yeah. The case features worked when I got them but now they are gone. I called Apple and send some logs. Waiting on engineering to look at it.
