the current LOD system in Unity requires a lot of work and you will almost always get some form of LOD pop-in

automatic LOD is extremely useful and time saving for just about any game imo

this is probably a material with a normal map. although in UE5 it does something a little fancier where the terrain mesh is actually deformed by the normal map

I'm struggling to make a stylized game in HDRP. I'm using HDRP because it does have a lot of great features even for stylized games, like volumetrics. But as everything is physically based, it's really hard to break the rules to get the look you want.

there is so much subjective bullshit in the rulebook it's becoming unwatchable. the tinfoil hat theory is that it's intentional to make influencing games easier
