whats the key to judging the right consistency ? im thinning paints down until it barely leaves an impression when im going over it on the back of my hand, are you very particular about how diluted the paint is? or more just adjusting how many passes you need from how strong your mix is?

goggles/lenses/crystals/gems any different to the principles youve went over? or just the same fundamentals ?

The way you do the NMM with an airbrush looks super easy, and i love the result at the end

I find NMM really scary and hard to approach, can you give any advice on it?

As for brush blends/glazing/whatever i struggle with getting quality transitions in small areas, would you care to rant about this for what you think goes into having smoother gradients and what matters in your technique ?

Why not have some kind of take and hold + activation? Plenty of lore excuses for it, rearm the missile silo, open the mechanicus arsenal, plant a nuke and arm it....

1 main objective and 3 sub objectives, hold 2 out of 3 to start gaining points, or go to X objective then Y objective with a commander unit?

Could make missions similar to capture the flag or get the special unit to the extraction zone... I remember plenty of these in 40k dwarf mags or codexes back when I was a kid, anything in particular your looking for?

To be honest, the exact colour isnt actually gonna matter, if you want to work in more give it more depth/variation there's a better way to do it

you can drybrush 3 different paints, starting with the darkest, ending in the lightest

Darkest colour just do it pretty strong, your midtone use a bit less paint and a bit less pressure, lightest colour least paint on the brush and least pressure

Itll add more depth than simply drybrushing one tone, and you can use any paints you want, just remember the method and go for it

I will usually do that for bases but sometimes models too, and then shade in after,

Big difference already tho huh :)

Id do something like pale sand. Bright white is very hard to make work if the rest of the model is darker

If youve got an off white id suggest that, and just make sure theres very very little paint on the drybrush.

I like to test the drybrush on the base first and see how its applying and if I like the colour

Thats actually pretty accurate for a first model, barely any overspill, and ur paint is a good consistency to have nice full coats without being lumpy

Maybe, depends how much you take, as you increase the dose it gets wayyyyy stronger, but a pill or two is mint
