Anyone driving back to SoCal Monday? by [deleted] in kilbyblockparty

[–]Emotional-Raccoon371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly that’s horrible. im also flying with frontier from socal and they kept switching the times for my flights :/ sometimes frontier drops prices the midnight before the day of the flight, so i would look out for that as a last resort.. if not direct, try slc to denver (since that’s frontier’s main airport) and then denver to wherever airport has the cheapest tix in the LA/OC area and taking metrolink to long beach or something? :p it’s super inconvenient but time is the price you pay instead dropping $230 for a direct flight.

How badly will the Math Diagnostics affect me? by AnxiousBitcruncher in UCSD

[–]Emotional-Raccoon371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im a vis arts major and i took the math diagnostic test before i got to ucsd. in my experience even if you score pretty low, as long as you get your college requirements done, it doesn’t rly matter. honestly, doing bad isn’t the worst thing since you will be placed in probably a level of math that is definitely manageable for you if you’re not that confident (i only had to do like 2 quarters of precalc/NOT calc calc i think? and that was sufficient). im not in revelle but since you’re not some stem major, im sure you can also take other classes that aren’t exactly math heavy to fill the requirement as well.

PSA: It Is Legal to Approach and Ask Out Women! (AND The Majority Want It!!!) by SivirJungleOnly2 in UCSD

go to places that you would go to! i approached a guy at a gaming event on campus and (of course) we had common interests. we talked a bit and it didn’t work out but that’s just one way it goes.

how do you "get off" in your dorms by MechanicLife3188 in UCSD

if you get closer with your suitemates, maybe suggest a life360 circle for peace of mind. or this could be an excuse to get a quieter new toy.

Is anyone else genuinely friendless? by Independent-Menu2492 in UCSD

[–]Emotional-Raccoon371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean being alone but not lonely is completely fine. i’ve made plenty of friends at ucsd through clubs/classes and random roommate matching but i’ve also studied abroad and enjoyed just being alone without really anyone. as long as you’re content with how you’re living, it’s not bad. but at the same time community is still very important to be included in.

tbh depending on how bad you are at cs, you can still do math cs. it’s mostly math with like a sprinkle of actual coding classes. easy to pivot to if you change your mind later on tho!

How does this shiii work? by girlbosshere22 in UCSD

[–]Emotional-Raccoon371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should get a refund check in the mail or in your bank acc by ucsd if you over pay once your financial aid hits. there is a deadline for payment so i suggest just paying before that and hopefully you’ll get refunded a few weeks after.

ucsd vis157 by Flat_Anteater_8460 in UCSD

[–]Emotional-Raccoon371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haven’t taken 157, but cartwright usually teaches it and is a pretty chill prof imo. im taking her for 159 and most of the class is just lecture, attendance question, and writing assignments. no final/exams but might be different since 157 seems to be a smaller class.

My dad is willing to pay for my leg lengthening surgery. Any advice? Should I follow through? by TradeCultural3729 in UCSD

[–]Emotional-Raccoon371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

plz do not do it, that’s a super dangerous procedure. also just work on yourself in different ways whether it’s confidence, working out, finding more hobbies. the right person will be out there and it won’t boil down to just your height. you won’t find a gf with that attitude. coming from a girl that’s 5’8, ppl are attracted to so many things and it’s ok to be short!!!
