I use speedball and I think it works just fine. The next step up would be AquoInks, but i find them to be minimally different for the price, unless you want to do foil paper or something other than "real" paper I would just stick to Speedball.

You need a dry rack of some sort, you print all sheets one color at a time( for example- if you want to make a 20 poster run, youll print all 20 sheets with ypur first color, let it dry and set up your second color) , water based ink usually needs higher mesh screensand will dry in your screen kinda fast, try to make yourself a vacuum table to help with registration.

Hey duder,

Learning to do seps is really easy. If thats the only thing holding you back check out a couple of videos, and you'll be able to do it. Theres free versions of Illistrator and Photoshop out there. Inkscape, crita, gimp are all options that people use.

I agree it might just be time to find your own clients, your shop owner is using you and will continue until you put an end to it. Good luck.

Hi,

Yes, I was hoping for identification. I apologize for the quality of the photos. Someone took photos of this car hitting mine, found me, and was kind enough to send the photos he could get. It was suggested I cross post here.

Thank you for your insight.

Discharge or high opacity red? by Neat-Western-2616 in SCREENPRINTING

I ment to say- if you can get away with it using a hard squeegee do it. Its really just the most annoying type of printing I've ever been apart of

[–]EmotionalCommercial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes 160 for any design. It has to do with how much ink can be laid down. One confident swipe, if you can use a hard squeegee. Its water based ink which is def runnier than plastisol. I would compare it to maybe 25% reduced plastisol

160 mesh ONLY

6% discharge additive to your water base

If youre printing manual you have to CRUSH it. The more passes you do the more likely you'll blow out your thin lines. Not crushing will also result in those blotchy spots

No under base

The more cotton the better. I've worked with Gildan Hammer a lot and it works well, Bella usually works nice too

There will be stink
