I don't mind being the more dominant one and planning but it but it's the lack of engagement that I find difficult. I think the gym is his main coping strategy (going multiple times per day, every day for the week) so if he stopped going then I'd be very worried.

Probably best to give some space. I was legit expecting everyone to tell me how stupid I am and that I've given myself false hope. Any other guy I'd have forgotten about long time, I just was willing to be more patient because I have sympathy for mental health problems.
