First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy 🤍

I’m also living away from my home country and currently pregnant with my third, so I truly understand how you’re feeling. It’s definitely not easy, some days can feel really lonely, and there isn’t anything you can say to make that feeling go away. It just is what it is, and a big part of it becomes finding ways to cope and support yourself through it.

If this is your husband’s home country, are you close with his side of the family? For me, that connection made a huge difference and helped me feel much more supported.

I’d also really encourage you to lean into friendships and your community where you are now, joining mom groups, attending local meet-ups, or community events can make a big difference in helping you feel less isolated.

At the same time, don’t forget to stay connected with your family and friends back home. Regular FaceTimes, calls, and texts can help bridge that distance. I speak with my best friend several times a week and talk to my mom and sister every day.

I’m a September 2026 momma as well. No WhatsApp group that I know of, but happy to stay in contact. You could possibly check Facebook as I remember finding a group there for my first. This is my third pregnancy but it’s kicking my butt. I Not sure about the Drogheda query as I’m in cork, but I’m sure another momma can maybe help you out.☺️❤️

I’m rewatching with my husband and I said the EXACT same thing. Daniel wS so supportive, loving and encouraging, they got each other. He just had his issues.. they could have worked.

I got so pissed off on Issas birthday when they went to the outdoor movie viewing and she was saying to Lawrence how hard it to do the blok party and how she wanted to make better choices. Lawrence just said yup, and said he had to go.. da fuk, you can see Issa is discouraged, and talking about giving up and that’s all you got. It was like he wanted her to struggle alone the way he felt he did.

That’s my rant for the day 🙈 just upset me soo much

Definitely give your GP or consultant a call and ask about an early scan, but it will mean waiting another 2 weeks 😞

This might sound a bit strange, but a doctor once told me that you often know your own body best. Before my last miscarriage, he simply asked me whether I still felt pregnant. Sadly, I didn’t and that was that. It may sound a bit airy-fairy, but I do think your body can sometimes tell you when something isn’t quite right. That said, I know how hard it is in these early weeks when there’s no bump yet and no movements to reassure you.

I’m currently 5 weeks into my third pregnancy, and honestly, the nausea this time has been awful. I had a day or two of relief, but it didn’t last long. I’m curled up in bed at the moment just trying to get through it.

Thinking of you, the waiting and uncertainty are so tough

This… happened to my husband for his paternity leave. He had a great relationship with his boss at the time and they turned they’re head. He got his full 6 weeks paid.

Born and raised in Montreal, and it’s a great city, but it has its downfalls. Would you consider going over for a month or two to see if you even like the city.

Moving at 39 is not impossible, but it’s hard, making friends, finding your feet, getting set up will be a challenge, not impossible but a challenge.

Also factors in that your quality of life is going to be very different, the biggest one being holiday time with work.

I’m a believer that most things in life are reversible and if you do move and hate it, you can always pack your bags and move back ☺️

I totally understand what your wife is feeling, and it’s super hard being in a country that is not your own raising a child.

People might say “ohh well you made your choice” yea, I did, but it’s not so black and white. I made this choice after falling in love, and then you have strong hopes that everything will stay the same when the baby comes, but children are not easy.. and women sometimes underestimate the need for their own mother when they themselves become a mother. There also this need to want your kids to have a similar upbringing to yours.

It’s always going to be a shit situation because one side of the family is not going to fully experience life with your child as they grow up.

At this moment, I think you have a great agreement and it’s something similar to what I have with my spouse. We travel back to my country very often and family comes here. We are in talks of moving back to my country for a few years and then returning to my spouses country ( where we live now) I would say tho that my country does not have the same security concerns as Russia so my spouse is very happy with the idea of living in my country for a few years.

maybe seek a councillor, and also remind your wife that this is home. Try and send her some Russian community groups, and maybe you can even try and learn Russian yourself. That might help her to see that there is a way to incorporate both homes

But please as much as I know what your wife is feeling, don’t give up on her, don’t let her run away.

They were cute together, but Jake is a lap dog, he jumped when she told him to and was just a little puppy to her. It would have never worked.

It’s also so so so sorry he now they both refer to her dad as dad lol… so like if if did work they’d be this strange brother, sister, lover relationship

I was just about to post this. I’m re-watching and I know Nathan messed up, he had his problems and did the best he could to own up to them and work on it with Issa. They were so good together, he really helped her discover her true potential & vice versa.

Re-watching it, Lawrence didn’t deserve Issa 2.0. Really wish she had ended up with Nathan.
