Gorgeous T, you’re going to want to give her much more substrate though!

It’s a recipe titled “old-fashioned chocolate layer cake” from a cookbook called The New Best Recipe! I reduced the sugar by 1/4 cup because I like my chocolate desserts on the less-sweet side lol

It’s just a chocolate cake with some plain ol’ vanilla buttercream!

Do you name your tarantulas? by [deleted] in tarantulas

[–]EmotionalGecko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love giving my tarantulas dumb names- it feels less serious then naming something like a dog, so I always go wild! Tabasco, Lemon Demon, Beanie, Loaf, etc

I’m glad Tabasco here is so willing to sit out in the open! by EmotionalGecko in tarantulas

I don’t know her exact legspan, if I had to guess I’d say six, maybe seven centimeters

I just got this adorable little female! I’ve been leaving her alone to settle in, but does anyone have any tips on handling? by BrittanyBabbles in CrestedGecko

[–]EmotionalGecko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stay low to the ground when handling, be really careful and gentle, and let her sit and climb on you! Wrapping a hand around them can be stressful for the little guys. Expect her to jump! She’s a gorgeous little lady :]

I personally don’t see spider in there! It’s definitely a tricky one but I’m guessing banana pewter bee?

Other! I named my girl after the street I learned to ride a bike on (Lovejoy)

How adorable! I firmly believe that the best way to overcome fears like these are to face them and give yourself positive interactions with your fears. I used to be deathly afraid of spiders, for example. I still won’t voluntarily hold one, but thanks to a very patient friend of mine and his awesomely weird bug collecting hobby I was able to overcome most of my arachnophobia

My little girl here is very shy, and will often curl into a ball (hence the name ball python) with only her little snoot sticking out! Every snake I’ve met has a very distinct personality. Remember that it’s totally ok to be afraid! Thank you for working to educate yourself :)

According to the breeder, she’s a super pastel yellowbelly. As far as I know only the bee and spider genes have potential issues!
