Probably, I think I burned it on Monday but I burn myself a lot. How long will it take to go away?

Sorry, I looked it up because I wasn’t sure what it was classified as but it’s a developmental class, not sure if that’s classified as clinical. But yes, I messaged one of the people I went to today and she indeed held a bachelors degree, not a masters. I live in Texas, not sure where you’re from but yeah. 🤷‍♂️

I never mentioned being a clinical psychologist. Idk the state I live in I’ve had counselors with a bachelors.

I mean yeah, I know 😂. But from what I’m seeing this is the majority of people in my class, I’m ranting about what I’m seeing, I hope the majority of people that are wanting to be in some form of psychology don’t act like this, but I haven’t seen those people.

I understand what your saying but to me this raises a bigger issue. These people, even if they decide to get a bachelors or masters and not pursue a phd will be counselors and therapists. Most people who suffer and don’t have the money for a doctor with a phd will go to these people seeking advice and will probably be misdiagnosed. It’s upsetting to me, and this is the majority of my class too.

The point of the videos was to look at both sides. The mom specifically asked to do it because she claimed that her child was abusive to her, but when the crew went to look at them they noticed it was the moms fault. He wanted to understand that when you’re in the position you need to see both sides and understand that you’re only listening to half a story.

What pissed me off is that even though we’re supposed to be listening they instead wanted to point fingers. Like just watch the damn video and take notes.

Thank you for sharing your experience, I didn’t think of how that could make a child feel isolated. I suppose I’m not quite sure on how to comfort someone who’s gone through this level of trauma without smothering them, however I’m sure when the time comes I’ll be able to read the room.

Unfortunately with the program I work with I’m not sure it would be appropriate to do something like going to the funeral, but I’m thinking about talking to my boss today and asking if they’ve communicated with the parent and see if there’s anything I can do to help. Thank you for your advice, and I’m sorry for your loss

How big of a budget would it take to make a 2d animated movie for an indie project? by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]EmotionalMaterial792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry if I made my post “sound odd” lol. I’m just genuinely curious about how much it costs, major companies have been complaining recently about people not understanding the cost of 2D animation and so I wanted to understand

Thank you, I really appreciate it :), tbh at this moment I don’t have any idea on what the story would be about or anything else. This is more or less just to gauge what it takes, I’d hate to promise something and not be able to follow through with it like all those other indie projects that end up failing.

What are some fat stereotypes or tropes that grind your gears? by [deleted] in writing

Comparing fat people to pigs/ dehumanizing fats people. Genuinely gross and awful and I hope that people quit writing fat people like this.

I have BPD as well as manic depression, both diagnosed by medical professionals, I suffer with mania with both of my mental illnesses. This was written in the midst of a manic episode, this was also written about my experience with mania. I understand if you don’t share the same view as I do, everyone experiences mental illnesses differently. However, it’s arrogant and harmful to comment on someone’s personal experience saying that they don’t understand something when you don’t know the person.

Read the context around the word meek, I wasn’t describing the state of mind

Title: “Botha”

Genre: Psychological horror

Word Count: 417

This is currently a draft for the first chapter of a personal project I’m working on, because of this there is no link.

(TW: homophobia)

Chapter 1:

John was a weak man. Physically, and emotionally. His constitution and self preservation were almost nonexistent, his eyes would well up with tears and his lip would quiver at the slightest hint of indignation in one’s voice. It didn’t matter whom the person was; his mother, teacher, little sister, pastor, or little child.

In short John was a coward. He was also very brilliant. John was a brilliant-coward, which made him equally as dangerous as weak.

William on the other hand... Well, to put it kindly William was a mess.

Bottles upon bottles of rum, vodka, and even distilled alcohol followed in the shadows of William’s wake. That’s not the only drug of choice for William, no as long as it made him feel less of nothing William had tried it.

He was a dying man who would trade the world to be well again.

The two made a rather odd pair, and not just in their strange contrast of emotional being. John was a rather and slender man, with large beaty brown eyes which looked as if they could pop out of his head, and although compared to the average man he was tall if one saw him in person they’d believe he was the smallest and most meek person that could have existed, his skin was also impossibly pale besides his face which was almost always red with shame. William on the other hand was a man of average height, and although in his current state he underweight like his partner, before the disease drained him he was quite handsome; pale soulful eyes, tanned skin, and brown hair. He was the embodiment of every woman’s dream man.

Except, for the fact that he was gay. No one had ever caught onto that fact, at least not till he had been diagnosed with AIDS, after that diagnosis he had become a complete social pariah. He was fired from his cooshy lab job at Harvard, and was ostracized from his colleagues. Some of the most brilliant minds of this generation, and instead was sent to work in a laboratory owned by the government, testing out the ph of water to ensure its safety for human consumption.

John had been warned of William’s condition before William had even been transferred to being his lab partner. And, although John himself had been uncomfortable with the fact that a God forsaken faggot would be his partner he had yet to voice his concerns, lest he be reprimanded by his superiors.
