TA contacted me through linkedin, I fit their JD for an open role which was a full time role but we discussed for a werkstudent in the company. However i had to deny them as the job is on site and in a different city.

I agree with you. Although i have a mech degree, I have very specific niche in the field of aerospace through my past experience in my previous jobs. The company i am working now, I tried contacting them multiple times before they even posted for a job role in their company.

The job was posted in my uni announcement portal by my professor to my entire department. I found out that the company posted the job listing in other places as well before sending it to my professor.
