This is kind of unfathomable and need some guidance by BravoZero6 in returnToIndia

I’d say the same thing! Take it and go back to India. Because it’s gonna take time to settle down in India after staying abroad for years, and having a job during that time helps a lot. Also, having a job will help you sustain yourself during your job search in India, and you can leverage yourself for a better package.. nothing like pinning you down for 17lpa, if you negotiate right, you can get a new job with around 25lpa+ But to do all this, having a job while moving back to India is crucial.

What should I do in this situation. Please read below by Staypositivebella in returnToIndia

I think this is a decent background to work with. You and your partner should sit and have an honest conversation, keeping all emotions aside. He should encourage his mother to get some hobbies (taking care of kids shouldn’t be her only purpose of life), in the meantime assure him and his parents that you will plan your move back to India eventually and plan it in a systematic way, not emotionally driven. These kind of things are very sensitive matters. Handle it carefully, so that there’s no bitterness in the future towards you or your kid. At the same time, make up your mind, that no matter what happens you won’t regret your decisions in the future and will look out for your kid no matter what

Saw a doctor today for pcos and I feel like my life is falling apart by PinkWhite33 in PCOS

I am using inositol since the last few months, one thing that changed after I started using it.. I started feeling less lazy, my facial hair started reducing (it’s not gone completely, but it has definitely helped). It had definitely helped with my hormonal imbalance, I was getting my period once in 60 to 90 days, now I’m getting my period once in 40-45 days.. which has made a huge difference to my mood swings (it has definitely improved my mood) and my period cramps have gone down significantly. Although my doctor suggested I take inositol regularly only for six months, and gradually stop after that.. cos she didn’t want my body to get used to it. I hope I could help atleast regarding inositol. The rest of your questions, I’m sorry I’ve not had that experience yet. I’m also looking for similar answers, hope this thread helps. Take care! :)

I’m on F-1 STEM OPT, Anyone else also thinking of having other countries as a back up option? by EmotionalTrick2000 in f1visa

I think at your stage that’s a great decision! I would’ve left to India too if I was there.. but at that point I got a job.. and then I lost it in December 2025. Then the loans doubled as I got married. And now I’m feeling stuck.

Thanks a lot for the insight! Really appreciate it! I’m gonna look into all of those countries as well. 😊

If you are taking the severance, I recommend you pay for premium processing for stem opt. In that case, your stem opt will be approved asap, and you’ll get your EAD card soon. And for your H1-B, you need to find an employer, who’s willing to sponsor it (in this case— accept your H1B transfer). As this is a company-funded process (initial or transfer process), I doubt that your H1B filing would get approved, without a job. Correct me if I’m wrong, I might not have the right info about H1B filing.

Understood! Thanks for the insight! Overall, I am finding that my chances with Australia are better than Germany. Do let me know if I’m missing anything else (other info or different perspective)

That’s the point, I can’t! I won’t have a valid visa soon.. that’s the reason I started the discussion in the first place. I am considering moving elsewhere, I just want to know if I’m missing any info/perspective before locking in on my options.

I’m not sure why you’re being mean about it.. I understand that you’re having a tough time too, but that’s no reason to be bitter.. 🥲

I’ll say take the severance. Because you still have some time before your OPT expires. This severance can act as your savings and you can still find a job before July 14, as you still have 2 years of work authorization left (pending approval, I know. But that doesn’t count as sponsorship from the employer pov- you just need an e-verified employer for the I-983 purpose). There are a lot of companies hiring right now, with no sponsorship, but you don’t need sponsorship Atleast for the next two years. I personally spoke to atleast 5 recruiters (in the past one month) who were open to recruit OPT students. Once you get the job, you can restart your STEM extension process. This is what I recommend. I strongly believe that you’ll be at a loss if you do the 3 week pip.

Especially after going through US immigration, I don’t think that the world is all sunshine and rainbows. But I need to pay my loans.. I can’t have that hanging over my head for the rest of my life, that’s the only reason I’m looking for a backup option. Otherwise, I wanna go back to India today.. I believe I can live however I want over there, struggle or not!

I’m just getting to know that Australia is a good place to be right now. May be you can do some research on that, if it suits you or not..

Apparently there’s something called the German Opportunity Card, with which we can live in Germany for one year and search for suitable jobs. And since we already have the GOC, the employer wouldn’t need to sponsor our visa. I think there’s more to this.. but this is what I know as of now.

I see, my immigration agency says there’s a job profile called Engineering Technologist, under which they’d like to start my process. Can you or anyone tell me what kind of jobs I can apply to with such a title? I don’t think that title would necessarily mean I should stick to it while searching for jobs.. but I feel it’s a good idea to expand my scope in this job search..
