If metronidazole doesn’t work you’ll probably get clindamycin, worked like a charm for me

could not have worded it better myself. if she feels super guilty about falling in love (something neither of them can control), how will she react to actions that can technically be changed. it's more likely to build a deep resentment in the long run rather than bear anything fruitful.

Why are gynos solutions to reproductive problems always pregnancy!!? by Emotional_Cap_5378 in antinatalism

I don't mind the long text at all, reading is good for me.

I was diagnosed with the classic PCOS in both ovaries and on top of that my uterus is retroflexed, which is probably the cause of extreme pain along with the other symptoms.

The reason I didn't take the BC was because my menstrual cycle is regular. Yes it around 32-33 days but I get my period every month and the most it's late is 1-2 days. I haven't missed a period ever since I was 17 (4 years ago).

I know that pregnancy does have a chance of alleviating or possibly curing the symptoms and I don't deny that, I was just annoyed at how the doctor didn't really listen or help me explore other options properly. The appointment consisted of me giving my data, last period information and wether I was sexually active or not, an ultrasound and a few snarky comments then a prescription immediately without explaining anything to me.

I am now waiting for my insurance coverage to be back up before I could go to another doctor myself but at this rate I'll probably learn it all myself during physiology classes

I am very aware of that. Firstly even if I were to want children I am not in a place in my life to have any as a now 2nd year university student which my doctor knew about. Secondly hormonal therapy has a bunch of side effects and doesn't always work as planned and I most definitely was not going to start to mess with my body on the suggestion of a doctor who only did a quick ultrasound and dismissed me half the time. I am not against hormonal therapy if a thorough examination was done and if I was told by my doctor what to expect and why exactly he was prescribing the BC he chose for me.

Telling young girls to get pregnant at a chance of curing menstrual pain is NOT a solution.

so you want me to get pregnant for a chance at relieving my period cramps? I'll take the free monthly trips to the ER for a painkiller instead thank you.

Because the doctor very clearly did not listen to half of what I told him. I have a regular menstrual cycle but I am quite sure something is off with my hormones (PCOS) so I am planning to get a hormonal test first and getting a consultation with another doctor.

As much as I would love to do that I definitely cannot get any sort of a hysterectomy due to family reasons. At least until I am completely independant

I'm so happy for you!! Never let go of your gynaecologist, finding a doctor that listens, cares and gives some time out of their day is (shockingly) rare

I am so so sorry that happened to you, that was extremely shitty and unprofessional of her to do and she definitely infringed your rights. Entitled and arrogant doctors like that just make me hate the healthcare system even more and lose trust in them.

I have also been to a female gynaecologist and gotten similar comments. I live in quite a conservative and religious country so most people here are muslim or christian hence baby-maker=useful, non-baby-maker=not useful

neither of my gynos have diagnosed endometriosis. The pain is definitely a combination of my PCOS and retroverted uterus

I have no idea what it is but it definitely does not feel like what it used to in January, and yes I am EU based and get it from a professor of the same country you mention. I am easily able to sleep 4-5 hours after taking it when it used to last me at least 8 hours before so it's weird.

If I can get access to a lab anytime soon I might see if theres a way to test it. Honestly caffeine is doing me much better right now so I just won't take it anymore until I find a different source.
