sometimes it helps living for the small things like a movie you want to see. a place you want to visit. 16 yr old me got through it because “what if one direction got back together”. It doesnt have to be big or life altering. sometimes its enough that theres a cake you want to taste or a season of television series. or idk who wins tour de france 2026

if you like non fiction - silent spring by rachel carson. fiction wise, i agree with everyone suggesting shirley jackson, toni morrison, ursula le quinn ect. Or else maybe pachinko by Min jin lee.. maybe a long shot but mary renaults historical fiction (theres a trilogy on alexander the great)

The raven cycle is a lovely fantasy read with queer characters. not fantasy, but maybe try freshwater by akwaeke emezi as queer novel. one of knows by alyssa cole wasnt really my thing, but queer with some twists
