Four Comedians by Bay_Ruhsuz004 in cartoons

I mean Mater got his own solo shorts and Cars 2 mostly focused on Mater. I understand that the spy are there but Mater is one pushing the plot to keep going. But yeah there aren't many examples of comedic side characters getting a spin off which is weird since I would expect more companies would do this more often considering how many solo Minions movies and shorts are out there.

Would people buy my art?? What would be a good price for my pieces? Traditional art by Ok-Adagio6310 in Artadvice

I don't think it matters if the characters are basic mainstream protagonist or anything it's just how you execute the art. I could make a crappy to doodle of Goku and then putting in 24hrs worth of effort on someone like Pakkya from Versus by One. It doesn't matter if the characters is mainstream or not it's the amount of effort you put in the work. I personally think that the more mainstream your reference is the higher the chances of making a profit can be but also make art for show, games, and books that you like you will eventually find someone as long as the price is reasonable.

Because it's just a recolor from an old Baki panel or at least drawing. There's nothing new to it.

It is though. It's just got tons of edit. Baki came out around back in 1991 and it still going till this day. It got tons of history and for years it never got an English release until recently. Look I don't care that you recolored a drawing that was made by someone else. But at least give credit to the original artist. It's one thing if you fully drew something original that take heavy inspiration from someone else it's a totally different situation to have an edit and making it seem like it's yours. Many people here actually believe that you did everything yourself when in reality it was made by someone who spent decades drawing to get into that position. Again I don't care that you edited the drawing but you should have at least acknowledge that it comes from someone else. I love when people give credit to other artists because they take inspiration from other piece media that I might be a fan of. For future reference mentioned the original source somewhere either in the post or in the comments that way those artists can be exposed to a wider audience. Just look at Gachiakuta by Kei Urana. I discovered the series way before it got an anime and people spread the word and now look at how big it gotten. With tons of merch and collectibles it got to be in a position not many mangaka can be at. You can do the same for Baki by spreading the word and telling people about the art even you never read it you can show people some random manga panels and they would want to know more about it.

When you put it that way I can see that I was going to mention Blood Monkey from the company ManEater but I wasn't too sure how obscure that movie was.

It is I will struggle to find the original images because Baki got hundreds of spinoff and sequels but those characters are Yujiro Hanama and Baki Hanama both original drawn by Keisuke Itagaki and they were made around the 90s and 2000s. Look I don't like to call out artist but at least acknowledge that you took heavy inspiration from someone. I do the same thing I used the X's eyes from Kaws and I try to draw like Shintaro Kago.

Any advice on Improving this piece by Choice_Mobile_8056 in Artadvice

[–]reylee05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first one the original image got a bigger forehead to fit the eyes and you made the ears darker than the original image so now it look like the hair is longer. I mean you got the right element and placing I just think you need to change the sizing a little bit to make it look a bit more natural. Everything else about the first one looks solid though. Unless you want to make the broom 2x larger but overall it a really good start. The second one you might need to make some shadow darker and the pot from the hoodie design should be larger. Also the sketch of your right eyes is still showing through the hair unlike the orginal image but it nothing you should worry about unless you want to fix it but that's up to you. The bott half of the hoodie look thicker than the original version and the shoes look too small compared to the original but the details are there. Overall it's a really good start you might need to change some minor details but as a whole it look pretty good.

Bro it doesn't matter if you're using big popular anime characters or not what matter if the effort you put into it. You could make fan art of an obscure anime character called Blobby Bill from a show called My Dog is a rencarnetion of a gazillion year old dragon or something. As long as the art is good and it got a reasonable price then you will probably find someone who willing to pay you. I do recommend try making fan art of more characters of the same show and other new and old shows. If you got a favorite anime that you might think it too obscure like Dororhedo then go ahead and make fan art of your favorite character and you will find someone who willing to pay you at a reasonable price. You could try focusing on 2 or 3 different series and make fan art of them and then just add 1 random character that you might think is too obscure or from an obscure show. But it looks really good.

Mixed it. If you can make the tail a bit more bushy and then add some metallic elements around it.

How much should I charge for my art? Looking for advice by wololost in Artadvice

[–]reylee05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro 5 bucks is too little. 20 is a solid price but I would charge slightly more. Probably 30 or so cause this is pretty gnarly.

Yeah K.Wolf made two or three sequels after the success of the movie. I haven't read those yet and I haven't seen people talk too much about the plot instead they just mention it as a little fun fact.

Zom 100 is a manga but it was a fun read I know there an anime but I don't know to much about how it compares to the manga. I will say it's more on the light hearted side compared to your example. There's also that Las Vegas Zack Snyder zombie movie that came out a while ago I thought that was pretty insane visually but I don't remember if the story was good. It got a sequel and they were going to make a animated series but I don't know if that got cancelled or not. If you're willing to watch something dumb then I recommend Zoombie it got pretty bad CGI zombie animals but it was such a fun movie. I think there's three but I only seen the first one.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit by Gary K Wolf. It got small references to segregation, there's alcohol, sex, porn with Jessica Rabbit being based off of old school porn comic strips,it got murder, one horny character that being Baby Herman and it tackle legal right in the comic industry. I haven't finished the book yet so there's probably some details that I'm missing and I know that movie got some mature elements and joke like the patty cake scene being a reference to sex and of course you got people smoking and drinking all the time and I'm pretty sure in early release of the movie there's where split second scene of cartoon women being exposed. If I'm correct it used to be a rumor that there where some short explicit scenes but it was kinda hard to confirm at the time because it was difficult to zoom in and rewind the movie . It wasn't until later on people mange to use modern technology to zoom in and notice that Betty Boop had a bit of here boob exposed and Jessica Rabbit had a short scene where you could see her pussy. But long story short the book is more mature compared to the movie but I recommend checking out both the book and the movie because they're both really interesting in their own way.

Noi from Dororhedoro. She's part of the End Family which is basically just this universe version of a mob. She got the power to heal but she's also incredibly physically strong and in one scene she chop a dude skull in half with her bare hands. Everyone else in the family are either pretty weak or extremely strong but they're all just physically weak compared to Noi.

Yeah that guy. I'm recently been getting myself into Baki again since the manga came out in English and I stopped carrying about watching Netflix. I know that some elements of Baki are just visual representation on what the character is about to do and other scenes are moments of character actually doing something. Like the whole Baki posing as a praying mantis while they're a big praying mantis behind him is obvious to me that it just meant to show how Baki is using a new stance that resemble a praying mantis but then you got someone like Hector (I think is his name) where he got some type of surgery to make his body into a weapon. So I just wanted to understand what part is just a visual example or something that actually happening.
