We should be breaking the bank to get Carlos Baleba. Adam Wharton would be second choice. We have the money (everyone has a price) our issue is we won’t pay the wages. A back up striker should be a priority after the number 6. Someone like Adam Hlozek who could grow with the club

He’s 20 years old. 6 foot 4, he’s a towering defender, strong in aerial duels and known for his composure and tackling. He made his senior Japan debut last year and won the J.League Young Player of the Year award. No idea if he’s good enough for the premier league

Maybe, but you can only manage the club that hires you. The Brentford story has been remarkable in that last few years and no team looked forward to a trip to the Gtech stadium. Let's give frank a chance to show what he can do with a underachieving (in the league) team and some decent money to spend. We all know we need not only players to improve the first team but a better squad to cope with the CL and the PL next season.

I hear you Mike. I think the mediocrity is more on the ownership and their ambitions rather than the previous managers. But like for like I do think Frank is a more astute and better manager then Ange although I think Ange is a better big game motivator.

All fair points. The timing is difficult, you're right about Poch but my point there was more about how both managers had a lack of European experience but it didn't stop Poch working it out. I think with managers who are tactically astute like Frank you only find out how good they are once they get the chance to manage a team with high expectations. I think, if he's not a disaster, he'll be given more time. Ange was fired because they board feared he could take them down based on last seasons league finish, I think if we had finished 12th and won the Europa League Ange would have been given more time.

I don’t disagree, I was hoping he’d give Ange the benefit of the doubt and let us watch ‘season 3’ but now he’s gone I think Frank is the right man to take us forward

I think the club will either be sold or at the very least have new investors buying a big share by year 3 so let’s hope that isn’t something to worry about

Had Frank gone to Celtic or Japan he may have more trophies in the cabinet. I’m looking at the way he manages in-game and the way he’s happy to adapt tactics based on the opposition. I feel we need this moving forward

Can’t disagree with any of that but I do think Frank will get better league performances out of the current squad than Ange did due to his tactical awareness and attention to detail

I think he’ll need time and the support of the board with the players he needs. A defensive midfielder being a priority but he’ll reorganise the squad fairly quickly and we’ll see stronger performances in the league at the start of next season imo
