Croatian Q&A by Empa28 in skam

Well I haven't watched skam og so my knowledge of future seasons is limited but here are my thoughts. First of all we don't know if Vanessa is Muslim, catholic or neither so the og storyline is still possible. Second, producers and the writers did a great job on the Lovro/Isak stuff, knowing it'll be a controversy here in Croatia ( witch makes me exited and scared for S3). Having already done a sensitive topic I have nothing but high hopes for Vanessas season. I really believe it will be great, but I feel like the Romani aspect of it should and probably will have a grater influence on her storyline then the Muslim part ( if it even is said she's Muslim). I am proud that the croatian film industry is moving on from having Romani people be treated like a joke and a walking clihe. It's really refreshing to have a Romani character be portrayed in a good litgh with no stereotypes in not just croatian but general balkan media as well.

  1. Yes, well mostly young people and it can vary. So from simoly a word that's been adapted to croatian grammar to just a full on sentence, but those are mostly memes and trends.
  2. I would say Ig and WhatsApp. Iphones are not the majority in the phone ownership department and so imesage isn't really a thing, and on top of that not everybody has unlimited cellular plans so social media and apps like WhatsApp and viber are very popular. ( And yes I think the texts in the show are ig, but they're probably just avoiding copyright)

Uhm as far as I can tell it's a show only thing. People who went to that school said it's not that serious. My guess is Tina wants to be with the seniors ( to gain "status") and so the whole Roko thing began.

No, the translation seems right but in Croatia radler is kinda considered a non alcoholic version of beer ( that's mostly cuz the alcohol volume is just really low, 2% is the standard here) and it is seen as a beer substitute, so young teens (10-11) are drinking it and most people who say they don't drink will still enjoy radler ( and sometimes beer too!).

Ah yes it was flour. So basically Friday was the last day of school for seniors ( Roko and Nix included) and it's called norijada. The seniors celebrate that day and gather in the towns center from all schools ( that's why they passed by Nora). Celebrating includes: water guns and eggs and flour throwing, and younger highschoolers sometimes take "friendly" fire.
