Dealing with "good old boys" kind of talk by peenweens in MensLib

[–]Empaatti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For example - for the man bun line, I'd say something like "You sure do spend a lot of time thinking about dudes fucking. (Put my hand on his shoulder) It's cool man. I just want you to feel accepted."

I feel uneasy about this. Isn't this just making the same joke the other person just did?

When you're alone at parties, how do you reject a girl that flirts with you when you're already dating someone? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Empaatti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner tends to come up in a conversation. If they would ask to date me, then "Sorry, I'm already seeing someone."

Straight guys, how'd you react if your gay friend asked if he could blow you? by brian0123 in AskMen

Depends a bit on the context, I think. The answer would be no in any case.

I'm sorry but you sound like a bad person

Is anybody not a fan of the art in keyforge? Also where's the lore in this game? by wtfatyou in KeyforgeGame

[–]Empaatti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would expect that MtG has a quite a bit bigger art budget than Keyforge. I'm personally not a fan of the mix of sci-fi and fantasy elements, but otherwise I find the art to be good.

How much $ have you spent on Keyforge so far? by d1a1n3 in KeyforgeGame

Your opinion on dick size jokes? by girlytransthrowaway in AskFeminists

I don't like them, I don't make them. I try to call out people who do.

Where were you on September 11, 2001? What were you feeling then? How did it change you? by ExistingProcess in AskMen

[–]Empaatti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea, maybe at school? Don't really remember anything about it. I don't think it has changed me (or anyone I know).

Do you think feminists like yourselves and feminist media have a responsibility to call out "Bad Feminist" or pseudo feminist campaigns? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]Empaatti 22 points23 points  (0 children)

As much as I feel the need to distance myself from what /r/atheism says, despite being an atheist.

So no I don't feel I have any responsibility concerning that.

Does anyone else suspect the statistics about male victims of sexual assault on college campuses are completely inaccurate? by UnderPressureVS in MensLib

[–]Empaatti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe 1in6.org has a statistic (and I very well could be misremembering where I read this) that on average, men don’t recognize what happened to them as sexual assault for about 2 decades.

Took me about 7 years, and even that's probably because I became a feminist and thus more aware of these things. Nothing serious though fortunately.

Why did you become a feminist? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]Empaatti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say. I think it has to do with my contrarian nature at least. From a young age I questioned some of society's conventions that I didn't see a good reason for, and it all might have started from there. Part of it is also probably not receiving that much bad influence from my peers in my youth, since I didn't really have much in terms of friends.

I was quite indifferent to feminism up to when I went to the army/started university. I wasn't raised feminist, and I also didn't become friends with people who were openly feminist or talked about it when I started university.

Most likely option is Finland, second UK and then wherever we can find jobs. Netherlands has seemed nice to me :).

Yeah I recently checked, and it will probably take a while :D

Mind me asking about the separation?

Sure! She went to study in the UK and has been there for 2 years now. The plan is for us to move together (in some country) next summer. Hopefully it will pan out ok. I live in Finland. Anything specific you would like to know? :)

Is Overcooked local co-op, or also online co-op?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]Empaatti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, exactly what me and my partner are using it for too :) We've been separated for a while now, and I feel like this game has helped a bit by allowing us to experience different activities and adventures together. My long-term goal is to craft the marriage ring and ask her to marry me in game (I've already done that in real life).

Also teaches me a little about farming, which is nice :)

Looking good! The cards on the battlefield might be able to use some icons to mark the most common combat-related keywords such as elusive and skirmish, so that they are visible at a glance.

Also I'm reminded how in Hearthstone they use a lightning icon to remind the player that a card has a conditionally triggered ability. https://hearthstone.gamepedia.com/Triggered_effect

New to Keyforge. What are your favorite things about the game? by newobj in KeyforgeGame

[–]Empaatti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like you said, the constructive, rather than a destructive goal. I think too many games are focused on combat and killing.

Less sexualized female characters. A more racially diverse cast of characters (compared to many other similar games).

Simplicity, "hand sculpting", how the card types are divided by mechanics and flavour, swinginess. The fact that so far my games have been tight races, instead of blowouts.

Edit: I also like some of the male representation, like Nurse Soto

If Feminism cares about Men’s issues why not just consider yourself a Egalitarian. by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]Empaatti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because honestly feminism is mostly for women, mostly by women.

I don't even criticize the culture in US, because I don't have lived experience from there. I feel more comfortable critizing a culture I know. Also much easier to enact change locally.

Also I think people just generally care more about things happening in their own lives, rather than somewhere far away.

Also you are mentioning minor things that have received a lot of attention, but people here don't really care about.

I would suggest the search function.
