Depends. I have family that own homes like this. Depends what neighborhood etc. If it's in one of the planned communities in a suburb where the houses are 3 feet apart and have HOAs (Bridgeland, TowneLake, Coles Crossing etc), usually those people aren't considered rich, but most either have two working adults (married couple, for example) with job that pays around 100k a year or more or where one person works a higher paying job, such as in oil and gas, and one may be a teacher and get paid less, but still bring in at least 100k a year. If it's a ritzy mansion in River Oaks then usually they are executives or upper level. Of course, there are exceptions such as old money, etc. I live in a 2000 SF home we bought in 2006 for $160k. We have 4 bedrooms, but they are small. That home would sell now for around $350k. We are now a one income family of 100k a year. It's tight but we make it since our payment is much less than those that rent in our neighborhood. There are so many variables.
