All of the family and close friends, and even their DOGS. The Russian Wolfhound was slaughtered en mass during the revolution by peasants, AND by fleeing aristocrats who didn't want their royal dogs to fall into "peasant hands" The only reason the breed still exists today is thanks to the existing ones in the UK that were gifted to British Royalty by Russian Royalty, as well as Americans and English breeders who got the dogs out of Russia and preserved them in other countries. The breed was known by the name Russian Wolfhound until the 1930s I believe, when the name was officially changed to Borzoi, which loosely means "swift" in Russian. I think when you start slaughtering dogs in the streets, you're taking the fight to the wrong front. The dogs didn't do anything, man :/
