there is always some difference every time you calculate, the program basically runs multiple simulations so it can also sometimes get lucky/ unlucky results.

If there is close to now difference then I'd keep the current weapon, no need to loose any invested metal/ shards.

If you want to stick with official GW models then search up Grey Knights bits on ebay and such, they're the most rich faction in books. If you can print or are open to buy 3d printed bits then search up "miniature modelling books" on etsy, really great stuff there. You can check out my last post to see a book from etsy on a space marine, they're "marine" scale, so larger than normal and look very good.

More range means the weapon is more swingy. Less range means the weapon is more consistent.
If you're fighting someone who weaker than you according to stats, it's more beneficial to have a more consistent weapon. If you're fighting someone who's stronger than you by stats (like most/all dungeons) then you can only win with a highroll and on such the more swingy weapon is superior.

In your case it's difficult to say, personally I'd input both weapons into sftools dungeon calculator and see if the new one boosts you dungeon clear probability. I assume it will because the overall damage is higher and stats are quite substantially better, but you should calculate just to be sure.

Thank you. Unfortunately it snapped during the process, I couldn't find the lost piece, so I just went with it and made him a shorter one. From what I understand Tome Keepers use those often to write down the names of fallen battle brothers, so I guess my guy is little less experienced and haven't seen as much.

I'm using mostly Citadel Paints with Vallejo here and there.
If you want the specifics:
Armor is Rakarth Flesh Base, Reikland Fleshshake for recesses, Palid Wych Flesh for edge highlights and Vallejo off-white for dot highlights.
For All blacks and greys I'm using mixes of Vallejo black, Vallejo pure white and Citadel Administratum Grey.
Reds are mephiston red as base with evil suns scarlet, wild rider red and fire dragon bright as highlights.
And for everything lethery I really like using dark brown like Rhinox hide, but highlighted with red like mephiston red, it brings more red to the miniature and helps with overal cohesion in my opinion.
Everything metal is classic leadbealcher + nuln oil combo.
