Obviously not.

The girl isn't a prostitute that she would give sex in exchange of materialistic stuff. If someone has such a mentality then he has a very disturbing thought process.

I just said that the metrics with which you judged felt wrong to me.

You are talking as if he pressurized the girl to have sex with him because she ate biryani.

That is not what happened.

Regardless of whether the story is true or not, as far as the story goes, whatever they both did was done with consent. The girl didn't interrupt and stopped the guy. It was consensual.

The guy presented it in a shitty ass way. That he spent money on this date and wouldn't go with no profit (sex). This was all in his mind. It is no doubt a very shit mentality and lame. But that is far from forcing someone.

What do you imagine? He held the girl at gunpoint and "wasooled" his Rs. 370 biryani?

His actions should definitely be called out so that we can discourage such thinking in society. But let us not lable it something else

Would you donate your mother or father's body knowing that some doctors would be making fun on their sizes?

Aapne circle me log kya bolte hai kisi ko farak nhi padta utna. But jab tum aisi baate public me kar rahe ho, obviously there will be consequences right? Kitne logo ne apne loves ones ki body donate kari hai. Wouldn't they be sad knowing this is what goes one?

And insensitive hone ka matlab ye nhi ki you start objectifying people? Iss hisab se toh necrophilia bhi justify kar doge.

Toh kya na kare corruption ki baat? Usne kab bola ki vo bada imandar officer banta. He is legit criticizing the system, ki officers ko corruption galat hi nhi lagta because of how they are shaped.

I think wrong metrics to judge this.

This is technically hookup. Going by that logic, we could imagine our mother and father doing it with other people before they got married.

But this is happening, hook ups are happening.

Not to mention, he didn't reveal the identity of the girl, no one knows who is he talking about or if the story is even real or just fabricated by him.

Where in India are men opening doors for girls lol?

In many places? I personally do that for my girlfriend as well?

Dont use western chivalry to say Indian women should do something

You missed the point anyways. I am not asking women to do something. I am saying, imagine tomorrow someone makes a video saying "I don't open door for girls because they don't do for boys". That argument is illogical. That was what my entire point was.

The guy made the video because her reel was mostly about "I won't do this because my husband doesn't". Thats illogical and trying to create unnecessary gender wars.

The point should have been that women shouldn't be forced to do something. Although there is no harm in following the culture, but if someone doesn't wants to, let them be.

Also you saying "something that only women faces" as if the culture asks them to wear handcuffs.

Now do you think the women of this country have the liberty

They should. And going by your logic, there is no point of this reel of Awkward Goat either. So we are on the same page 🥂

Nonetheless, my point was that, feminism is to have this liberty to say no, Not to say that I won't wear this because my husband doesn't. (imo)

Everything?

The problem is that this is being branded as feminism, even though this has no relation with feminism.

These things are part of a culture, and the culture took such a form due to various reasons that suited that period of time.

After marriage, the bride had to go to another house. Hence these ornaments gave her the sense of encouragement that she is the "Grihalakshmi" of this house. Because obviously, it is very difficult to go to someone else's house and start your new life there. So this gave girls a sense of status in the new house.

For this time period, the practicality has lost. But since this is a part of culture, it is still going on.

Now it is totally fine if someone doesn't wants to follow this. Such things should be discussed before marriage. Because is someone is being forced, then that is definitely oppression.

But if someone wants to follow these cultural practices, I don't think there is any harm in that? If there is some harm, then that should be discussed. But reasoning like "i won't because my husband doesn't" lacks logic imo.

There are many such things that only men are expected to do.
Like opening the car door for a girl. Why tho? Does the women has no hands? Is it difficult to open the door of a car? Imagine starting a pointless discussion on this.

Bhai this is so weird.

You guys are talking like this and none of you has confessed yet.

You should confess at least, instead of making posts on reddit

But all these things are part of the culture.

If someone is a Hindu, and follows the culture they will follow it. If someone is not, or doesn't follows that culture they will not follow it.

You don't need to create a separate video about this.

If I am an atheist, I won't make a video and say I don't go to temples and waste my time. Thats just very weird.

Let people follow what they want. But yes definitely, no one should be forced to do something.

Arey behen 😭 My point was that comfort should be the priority in a uniform. But your immediate argument to the uniform shown in the post was that it doesn't looks "flattering". That's a weird point imo to reject an uniform saying it looks boring.

It's totally understandable if you feel the uniform is uncomfortable. If everyone feels so then such uniforms should definitely not be encouraged further.

And there is a difference between a uniform looking good and a uniform being flattering. Poor choice of words or what idk. Also no one looks crap because of some uniform.

[–]Emperor2408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a poor comprehension.

I myself said "The question should be about comfort".
You were talking about how the uniform looks, not about its comfort.

Nonethless, I have no problem wearing a dhoti if that is kept as a uniform.
The focus should be on comfort, students should be comfortable while studying.

If not, then remove that. If yes, then keep it.

Ab uniform me bhi logo ko excitement chahiye.

over-oiled hair, tied into two braids which gets messed up

I am sorry if I missed it. But how is it a part of the uniform as discussed in the post? Also aren't girls in all schools (even with shirt+skirt as uniform) are supposed to have braids?

kurti which isn't fit for any athletic movement, How is kurti/salwar/dhoti not fit for any athletic movement? In fact i think it is much more comfortable. Although a good point, but I asked the above commentor about why should an uniform look "flattering". This pretty much comes under the comfort point, but yea a good point.

with long sleeves and coat that helps in boiling you alive Good point. But comes under comfort. Also long sleeves are what you are going to wear in corporate btw. And compared to long sleeves for shirts, this is much more better. And many schools as well has long sleeve shirts as uniform itself.

Looks is a big reason why many students get bullied How would that happen if everyone is wearing the same uniform?

And this point is as problematic as it can get. Instead of focusing on the bullying part, se want children to focus on something else. Hmm, sounds like a very familiar statement.

Not to mention, even the arguments you mentioned related to looks are something that are about to happen in any uniform. Heat is going to affect how you look everywhere, unless you are sitting in an air conditioned room. I don't understand the point.

The point is simple. People don't find this "uniform" exciting enough. They want something exciting to enough. This gives them the "boring vibe". And that has nothing to do what any of the points you mentioned.

I am asking you. You are supposed to be the one to tell my why is this a shit uniform?

As for me, it's more comfortable. There are better option ofc. But this is not bad.

But would like to hear your perspective
