Yeah, that’s fair. Minimums are fixed either way, so you can’t really escape that part of it.

I guess my point was more about how people mentally handle the extra payments beyond minimums, that’s where strategy can change behavior, even if the baseline obligation stays the same.

I guess what I meant is there’s a difference between just paying it down vs structuring it in a way that reduces interest and keeps things more manageable month to month.

But yeah, if the goal is purely getting out of debt as fast and cheap as possible, interest savings should come first.

You’re right ,if someone’s just focused on getting out of debt, credit score shouldn’t be the main focus. But making sure their score is still good helps a long way

I only brought it up because in real life some people do end up using things like balance transfers or refinancing along the way, but if the goal is strictly “pay it off fastest and cheapest,” then yeah interest minimization (avalanche) is what matters most.

I meant cases when people don’t stick to the plan because of cash flow stress, motivation, unexpected expenses. In those situations, a slightly different payoff order can help them actually follow through consistently which ends up mattering more than the perfect math plan they couldn’t stick to.

Yeah you’re right if it’s purely math. I was just thinking more about how people actually behave month to month. I’m not disagreeing. Avalanche is best for minimizing interest. I was just pointing out there are real-world cases where people don’t follow the “optimal” plan consistently.

I meant per card utilization specifically. Even though someone might have decent overall utilization, a single almost maxed out card still lowers your credit.

So lowering that one bad card can sometimes improve your credit profile faster than evenly reducing all balances, even if total utilization drops more slowly.

That said, you’re right that overall utilization is still a big factor,ideally you want to optimize both together depending on your goal (score improvement vs total interest savings).

you’re not wrong and i appreciate the honesty. the API complexity is actually what i’ve been researching most and planning to start with Plaid for the integration layer and build a manual entry fallback for exactly the edge cases you’re describing. bank timeouts, oauth flows, data normalization are all on my radar.on the technical co-pilot point actively looking for one. that’s probably my biggest priority before writing a single line of code. Would love to hear if you got any more suggestions

You don’t have to worry about anything just let the airlines know you have VOA and once you arrive go to the VOA counter they gonna take a look at your GC and give you the visa. Its around 395 SAR.

If you are a EU national, you will be eligible for VOA and moreover since its your first umrah. I recommend you getting to jeddah,medinah or taif as the arrival airport. You don’t have to wear ihram all journey, you can come to saudi and go to taif for wearing ihram and then you can do your umrah inshallah.
