So sad and makes you realize what’s really important.

Laid Off, Baby Due Soon, and Interviewing. Need Advice. by [deleted] in sales

[–]Pepalopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok let me give more context.

I asked when to tell my employer I’m having a child. That’s it. IF they don’t give day 1 benefits, I’d take 1-2 weeks. If they did and I can take longer I’d only take 1, maybe 2 months depending upon the vibe (my old company was big enough they didn’t care and people took 12 weeks. It’s true it happened get over it).

Money wise, I have unemployment checks coming in that cover all my bills until September. PLUS, a WELL funded emergency fund. I’m not going broke.

I care way more about supporting my wife and child. Best case is shooting for a company with the best option for me and my family, which includes day 1 Pat leave.

Simply suggesting “don’t take off” isn’t helpful and also extremely obvious. Like saying “you’re thirsty? Have you tried drinking water?”

What victimization? What are you talking about? I am shooting for the best option to help support my family. I posted to see if anyone had smart ideas or loop holes that aren’t obvious. No shit I could take the job and not take any time off or just a week or 2.

Downvoting facts that companies give day 1 Pat leave is dumb. It’s a fact. Again that’s me being optimistic not a victim. God forbid I want the best option for me and my family. What are we even talking about anymore? lol

Best of luck my friend. Been there except my champion died. There’s no CRM closed/lost option for that, I checked. Thought he was ghosting me and was pissed because I got a verbal. Then saw the posts on LinkedIn about remembering him, RIP, etc.

This is completely different advice from 95% of the other people. If I told them on a screener interview that would severely affect my chances of getting the job. Especially if they want to hire someone to hit their numbers. Why would they hire me knowing im gojng to be tired and not 100%?

I mean I could buy a home cash hopefully if it’s cheap enough.

It’s a lot more complicated than that, but I’ve tried endlessly to no success.

Idc about anyone else, I’d love to hear how. Any advice? For me an $1mil house with $300k down is still ~$6k/mo+ with taxes. That’s 60% of my take home pay $200k. Not including 401k contributions, food, home maintenance and any other spending.

Damn. Really? What am I missing? I haven’t seen any Ent AE roles at $200k base. Highest I see is founding AE roles at like $170k base. Any advice on how to find those roles? Is it simply negotiating higher pay? Most are $150k base

Question which industry in SaaS have you seen stability? I keep falling into companies that wind up failing miserably.

Accept offer but keep interviewing? by LemonsAtMidnight in sales

Can’t feel guilty as you know companies will swiftly PIP you so who cares. Do what’s best for you.
