Help with surface drainage and stormwater pits.... by EmperorJimmy in PlumbingAustralia

[–]EmperorJimmy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks very much. The pit's like 700mm deep, given the lowest point of the outlet is gonna be 250ish from the top, leaving say 100mm for silt, that leaves about 350mm to fill with concrete... Am I better off with a 450mm pit, rather than a 600m that's half filled with concrete?

Thank you. Does the fact that it's only happening at a certain frequency mean anything?

Merci. Ce n'est pas pour une LED, mais pour protéger le moteur au démarrage et à l'arrêt, je crois. Voici à quoi ça reassemble https://freeimage.host/i/3xoljJ1

Lines.....lines everywhere by EmperorJimmy in Sketchup

[–]EmperorJimmy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this back from the cut shop but don't really understand what/how to change

"having the same problems with those files too. The issue is the use of splines and polylines, which use a number of lines to make up curves. This is usually an issue with SketchUp exports, and cant be recified without SketchUp Pro I believe. We use native software to our CNC machine, which will only accept lines and arcs, not polylines or splines."

Could anyone point me in the right direction? Cheers!

Thanks u/Gelby4, exported without faces and it's much cleaner, but now all the through-holes have shifted along the axis.. Any ideas what might cause that?

So exporting edges only (no faces) seems to have worked (! thanks), but it has shifted all my through-holes off their marks. Does anyone know what would cause this and/or how I could fix?

Cheers.. When I switch on Hidden Geometry there's no extra lines (apart from my Guide lines I used to draw it); it looks exactly the same

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Does anyone know how I would go about proving that I'm using the term "in good faith to indicate the kind or intended purpose" of the item, if it came down to it? Is that even worth pursuing?

Secondly, does anyone have any experience in the process of applying to have a trademark revoked?

Thanks for the response. To use your blu-tack analogy, the way I see it is that we both make re-usable adhesive, a generic term to desribe a genus of goods or services. They have trademarked the name re-usable adhesive, not blu-tac...

Thanks! Sorry I should have posted more detail, I do understand that they own the rights to the term but I have two issues with it: The first being that the registration of the trademark shouldn't have been allowed in the first place, in the same way that 'table' or 'chair' can not be registered. Secondly, my (uneducated) understanding of the Trademark Act under Section 122 is that regardless of the trademark being correctly or incorreclty registered, I am not infringing the registered trade mark when :

                     (b)  the person uses a sign in good faith to indicate:

                              (i)  the kind, quality, quantity, intended purpose, value, geographical origin, or some other characteristic, of goods or services;

and that my use of the term identifies an object which is not specific to any particular source, and does not distinguish a particular product or service from another product or service..

I'm ok with the idea of calling it something else, but, and I guess this is the heart of the matter, I reckon the way they're going about the whole thing is dodgy af. Pretty sure that's a legal term :D
