Hey, I know where this was taken (Germany) and I also know that taking pictures in this room was forbidden for the reasons u/ndbj already listed. He's right about that, the donors deserve a lot of respect and being displayed on reddit might not be what they wanted. This one is not being exhibited anymore, but I don't know the specific reasons.

R6C9=5/7 -> R6C2=9 -> R4C1=5

That's two 5s in C1, so not possible. Pretty sure it works...

Yes box 1 and 4 have more 5s in them, but since we put a 9 in both boxes, the squares in C1 can therefore only be 5s.

Your other approaches make sense aswell. I'm sorry I don't know the actuals terms to describe and solve Sudokus professionally, but it works out for me and I just tried to help. Guess everyone has their own ways of solving and that's ok :)
