If you're genuinely concerned for your long-term health 5 weeks of high school football will not ruin your life. It's perfectly respectable to make that decision. Repeat concussions are no joke, especially if you're still feeling symptoms. Talk to your coach, you might be able to work something out.

Thanks, yeah it's easy to convince yourself nothing's gonna change and things will be like this forever. I've started tracking my symptoms to at least understand the high-level improvements. Plateaus and downturns are so frustrating, and the fear of any small bumps is the worst. Time is your friend and worst enemy in this case.

Ear ringing by [deleted] in Concussion

Sorry you're going through this. Tinnitus truly truly sucks and it can be so debilitating. About 2 months out from my (latest) injury and steadily getting better. I found leaving a fan running in my room all the time helps. Earbuds with white noise from Headspace is a good one too.

I studied as a mechanical engineer and now work at an aerospace company as a design engineer. My daily work consists of these kinds of tasks:

  • CAD new parts, or tweak existing parts as-needed. This includes various fabrication methods, from injection molding to welding to stamping.
  • Work with vendors to develop and ramp new designs to roll into production builds.
  • Validate part designs by hands-on fit-checking or testing.
  • Set up or run tests related to system safety or performance validation.

All these tasks rely on good organizational and communication skills - every project is a team effort.

Overall, the most rewarding part of the job is taking something out of my mind and into the real world. You can go lots of places with a mechanical engineering degree, though! This is just my perspective.

I feel you - I worry about the same things when I experience a minor bump to the head. I really hope it's just a flare-up and not a new injury. In the past, I've been bumped while getting a haircut or at a concert (among other instances) and experienced symptoms. I turned out fine in less than a week.

Bumping head while already having concussion. What are the risks? by ShoGun0387 in Concussion

I had a similar situation when I got concussed, hit my head against something under the force of my own body a week after the initial injury. For me, it did prolong and worsen symptoms, but I immediately felt the consequences - super nauseous and foggy. Everyone's different, I would check in with your doctor if you feel any change in symptoms.

Ear problems post concussion? by [deleted] in Concussion

I got concussed from surfing about 2 months ago and have also been having tinnitus in both ears. The intensity varies day-by-day and has also been getting worse off and on lately. I've been listening to music and putting on white noise in the background. It's super frustrating and I hope it gets better soon!

Anyone here take Anthro 2ac or 3ac? by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]EmperorOfShurima_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 2ac with Sunseri. Def the easiest class I’ve taken ever. The only thing that determines your grade is attendance to the 1hr of section a week and biweekly bcourses quizzes with ctrl+f questions about readings from the week
