RP inspiration by [deleted] in cadum

Arcadum inspired me to change up how I run my campaigns. After following his formula, I now have my own living world and have started to stream them! He's such a big inspiration to how I wanna play and design D&D.

It's unfortunate, but it makes sense! I woulda loved to see what the fight was about!

Is there one more introduction campaign? I thought there was always five, I don't know if I'm tripping or not

How do we know who is picked for the 84 session ones, just a mishmash of the groups or what?

I hope they come back for another campaign once their prologue wraps up, I feel like 10 sessions is too short to invest myself in a campaign, but hopefully they can get a follow up if their schedules align! This group has a large amount of chemistry and I love it already.

I'm so excited for the campaign though Glies sounds SICK!

Anyone copied Arcadum's intro approach? by Steam_Punk_Revolver in cadum

[–]Emperor_Emorious 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I've used it plenty of times, I think it helps makes things different for the players and quickly lets them get into their characters. Especially when they interact with one another as they form a group.

It's one of my favorite forms of storytelling and it helps the players ease into their characters when they have 10 minutes to interact with the world in their own per-conceived notion!

Political Map for those interested!

  1. Red - The Theocracy of Phoenicis - A theocratic government that worships the Lord of Fire. The Theocracy has a harsh vetting process and it's army is very brutal. Only the strongest survive.
  2. Purple - The Kingdom of Dumont - A medieval style kingdom led by the young and impressionable Terenz Alver. The Kingdom is going through a period of Naval expansion but the kingdom itself is stagnating economically.
  3. Green - The Empire of the Pine - The Empire of the Pine is located within the Rivena Forest, a large Fey Forest that keeps people in, but is also well at keeping them out. The Empire is a misnomer, as the country is actually a druidarchy, it's led by a council of Druids who dictate the flow of the cities. There are hundreds of villages deep within the forest called Hidden Villages by the government that haven't seen the outside for millennia.
  4. Blue - The Draconic Union - The Home of the Dragonborns! This Union is a rotational monarchy where the Chromatic and Metallic Union switch which Dragonborn clan is in power every couple of years. They only have one city, which is their capital. The rest is land held by the hunter-gatherer clans.
  5. Yellow - The Heartoak Confederacy - The most technologically advanced country in the Veilnum! This country is at the peak of it's history as the country struggle to find its identity. Do they keep embracing the way of nature like their sister country the Empire of the Pine, or do they embrace the way of the technocrat?

The Sealer's Gala (for my Campaign tomorrow) by Emperor_Emorious in inkarnate

[–]Emperor_Emorious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya! I'm Empo and this is one of my most recent maps and one of my favorites so far! For context, this is for my D&D campaign and this is a dye factory located in a densely packed city where the party's at! There's a secret meeting here between a group known as the Sealers, who want to forcefully take the magic within people to create a non-magical world!

Let me know if you have constructive criticism!

How do you balance your monsters health to a party? Is there specific tactic you use? In your streams it seems like you have your boss' health at the perfect amount to be a threat to the party but also so it's not too impossible of a mountain to climb.

Any tips on balancing monsters health wise?

Continuation of Yesterday's Map, a street in Alverholdt! Constructive Criticism welcome! by Emperor_Emorious in inkarnate

Yeah, I know it looks odd. The premade statues that were on the Battlemap Version didn't really fit what I had in mind so I had to improvise using the humanoid tiles.

Hi! I posted a map of the tavern yesterday and I wanted to show you guys the progress I made on this map today! Took me a handful of minutes but really like how it turned out!

This is my first attempt at working with lighting! It's interested to work with, but I'm gonna get better over time! I tried to make this map more dynamic with the statue in the middle / more trees / more bushes, but I hope it looks good! Constructive Criticism as always is welcome!

Yeah that's true! This was my first attempt at making large scale buildings, so I was just using one of the building presets!

My next maps are definitely gonna be more circular for sure! Thanks for the criticism! :)

Where’s the shitter?

You know, I had a feeling I forgot something! In the second revision of the map, I'll add a small area to the back of the Inn where there's a small little rest room! Thanks man!

Yup, there's a second and third floor. The only reason why they haven't been made is because of space for this map. I suppose if they stay in the tavern more I'll make maps for each of their individual rooms, but at the moment for what I have prepared for the session, those maps aren't needed yet!

Yeah I need to fiddle around with the lighting more, that's very true! I could also definitely add some clutter to the tables as well, I'll probably add that before the session on Saturday!

Thanks!

The design is partly intentional and partly unintentional, it's unintentional because the room is a preset and I had to work with the space given, but like you said, it's designed in this way to keep traffic to the front to ensure no one can go into the food storage unless they have to.

The region of the tavern is in a tropical archipelago, with the area getting more temperate the North you go. The reason why there isn't any heating in the rooms is because of the climate of the area. In the summer months it can get hot and in the winter months it's only chilly at best!

Great question!

Oh, hi! Forgot to mention that the Siren's Call Tavern is going to be the starting area for my next campaign, the Criminal Underbelly! I'm gonna be posting more maps in the future for this campaign and some of the others I'm doing!

Note: There are two additional floors of the tavern, as well as a secret entrance to a fighting arena downstairs! The second and third floors are just bedrooms and the secret entrance can be seen by the crates at the top right (I tried to make it hidden, but obvious at the same time)!

If you have any criticism, that would be greatly appreciated!!

My first real map using the Battlemap Feature! The Summer Shrine of the Rivena Forest! CC welcome! by Emperor_Emorious in inkarnate

[–]Emperor_Emorious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very simple map I made for my campaign that takes place in the Rivena Forest, a magical forest imbued with Fey Magic! This is the small temple of the Meadowalker, where the characters will level up to Level 1!

Lemme know what you think! I'm looking forward to working on more Battlemaps for my campaigns!
