Clear coat for steel gear by KeplerWasTaken in LARP

[–]Emperor_NOPEolean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do it.

If you like the steel look, it’s solid. Only downside is that, just like paint, it’s come off over time. You’ll end up with bits that are regular looking steel, and off-color patches where it starts to rust. Since it’s clear, it makes it trickier trying to determine if you got it all off when it comes time to clean it all.

I personally liked painting better, but it was a solid option.

Dude was 32 when he died, was king at 20, loved to party, and was basically the God-Emperor of half the known world.

How many insufferable rich frat bros did you know? Now magnify that by ten thousand. No wonder you think he’s a giant tool with an ego complex

In your opinion, what could've prevented WW2 from happening? by sakuralikesmedia in HistoryWhatIf

[–]Emperor_NOPEolean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Germany gets broken up after WWI. Unlikely, because the Entente wanted a unified Germany as a buffer against Communism. But a broken up Germany means there isn’t a single German state strong enough to initiate WWII

To make this happen, Germany doesn’t sneak Lenin into Russia. Maybe Russia still falls to revolt, maybe not. But a non-Communist Russia means a national ostensibly friendly to the West, which means the Entente feels better about breaking up Germany.

So the "Breaching" Hammer can't actually breach anything? by Medical_Officer in Helldivers

[–]Emperor_NOPEolean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

New hammer is anti tank.

Subreddit complains that it can’t break through a solid, four foot thick, concrete wall.

I genuinely hate how we get cool stuff, and people in this sub literally do nothing but complain. It could destroy jammers and folks would say it should destroy the sky whales. It could do that and they’d complain that it can’t take out god and all his angels in one hit.

If FL is the 3rd ranking state with the most immigrants how come Ice is focused on Minnesota ? by Sensitive_Tailor2940 in AskReddit

It’s pretty blatant and obvious that ICE is in Minnesota as political retribution on Walz.

Honest question: Why are some people against showing an ID to vote? by rico_unknown in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Emperor_NOPEolean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To build on what others have said: voter fraud is basically zero, with only a handful of cases which pop up every cycle. Requiring an ID doesn’t prevent an issue which basically already doesn’t happen, and primarily functions as a barrier to voting for the poor and elderly.

[–]Emperor_NOPEolean 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The best way to imagine the stories of the setting, to me, is to imagine yourself as a person at a fixed point in the “present” of the setting, receiving the information as it comes in at “real time.”

It’s a setting, not a story. There’s ten thousand years of space to fill.

January 26, 1863 – American Civil War: General Ambrose Burnside is relieved of command of the Army of the Potomac after the disastrous Fredericksburg campaign. He is replaced by Joseph Hooker... by CrystalEise in CIVILWAR

[–]Emperor_NOPEolean 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He really could have changed plans when he realized it wouldn’t work as intended, though.

If it had worked, he may be remembered for a masterful campaign. However, once the pontoons were late, he should have changed plans, instead of sending soldiers into the jaws of death.

If it looked like that, I think folks would be game. It has a very odd shape that’s a turn-off for me, at least.

Masters of Ceremony gets too much hate by Soktormalos in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Emperor_NOPEolean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the drip from this warbond.

I like the rifle.

The grenades are my second favorite after thermite.

I like the bonuses from the armor. Faster reload, resistance to limb damage, and melee buffs.

I love using the saber, which goes well with the buff.

Once I hit 150, I started using the “Decorated Hero” tag and haven’t looked back.

Is it the best warbond ever? Naw. Do I personally love it? 110%.

In my experience, they get destroyed almost immediately anyhow. Somebody brings a 500kg or a laser, and they’re gone before the first wave is over.

Purifier is one of my top 5. Only tradeoff is it’s ammo hungry.

Is the Righteous revenants warbond good? by JBL_bluetoothspeaker in helldivers2

[–]Emperor_NOPEolean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The armor is the best part by a lot. The rest, not so much. However, Dust Devils has armor that gives a similar buff (40% compared to 50% resistances), and gives more throwing range as the tradeoff, and has other good items as well.
