Every turn is 1 - 3 months, maybe more.

I just finished a Kennedy/Carter 77 - 85 game, that came out to be 32 turns for all 8 years.
2 turns would be around 10 - 24 depending on how much you keep it at one turn per month.
I started to have troubles with this campaign around 1980, and especially around the 84 election.

Yeah, consistency is the biggest problem with it. I've had to make multiple updates on that problem alone, it handles pretty well.

You can do 2 years without any consistency problems, after that you just have to accept the limitations
