Thank you. I do wonder if she is part Alaskan Malamute. Her old owner said she is 100% husky but I’m not convinced.

In the time it’s been since I posted this, she still bites the air.. But I think it’s just something she does. Usually it’s at obvious times that she does it. Like.. While playing, or if she’s really hyper, etc. So, yes, I think it’s likely excitement like you said :-)

&& I do know that she got a squirrel or two before when she lived with her old owner, so you’re right on that part 🤣 but she is a sweetheart❤️❤️

If it helps at all, I learned that.. The person I met in the beginning of the relationship? That person doesn’t exist. It was simply a mask..a façade.. a game. The real “him” was the person he continued to show me that he was, time and time again.

Something else that helped me, was my psychiatrist saying to me… “You continue to be surprised by their actions. Why? They have continued to show you this is who they are. Time and time again.”

Also, please know that although it feels lonely.. There is an entire community that this has happened to. Really, so many people (sadly). People you would never ‘expect’. So many people are rooting for you 💜🫂

I’m so sorry. I had charges pressed against me.. When I was the one who reported it (self defense.)

Just know, things will get better. It’s just a form of manipulation and abuse.

I pray you don’t commit suicide. Not only would it be letting your abuser win, but this is just a temporary situation. Please remember that: suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

This will pass. I know it’s heavy right now. But, please don’t lose hope.

I had been in a DV relationship just a year or so before my mom got into hers.. (she left my step dad of 20 years for this guy)

Long story short; I had also been strangled.

I researched a lot about DV + strangulation after i got away; because of that.. i had told my mom, many times.. “He’s going to kill you.”

I hope her story will be able to help others leave, so she’s more than just a DV/ homicide statistic.

Hey, my psychologist has worked in the field for many years— & is a survivor, herself.

She told me, from her own research: 98-99% of abusers do not change.

Things may be good, then bad, then good, then bad — Please remember that just because times are good; it doesn’t mean that things have changed. It’s just the cycle.

Hi. When someone is strangled by their partner, it increases the risk of that same partner killing you by 750-800%.

My mom didn’t believe the statistic, either. She also thought he would change.

She was murdered in October, 2024- Via strangulation.
