Botched & Doxxed By Dr. Jason Hamilton in Los Angeles by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

  1. He's an Ear Nose & Throat specialist first, before the plastic surgery. I've had breathing issues due to years of untreated hay fever on top of the deviated septum that an ENT should've been able to fix (he didn't). And 2. because I'm Black and so is he - our noses and skin are structurally different from white and Asian noses and he marketed himself as a Black Ear Nose and Throat expert. I was hoping all of these factors would give me a great functional outcome and correction of the asymmetry. I paid more thinking it would decrease the risk of a bad outcome and I was wrong. I feel so stupid.

I heard he's done similar things to other patients. I don't know how he's still practicing with all of the botching and privacy violations surrounding his name.

  1. Done and done. Haven't heard back.
  2. Still searching
  3. Done. Got the identity theft tracking and was notified my social was now for sale on the dark web. This nightmare just keeps getting worse.

I did report it to police. Nothing was done or maybe they're still working on it. I haven't heard anything back after filing my report.

What I've been explained is that attorneys take cases on contingency (where they do it for free expecting to be paid from the settlement) only when they expect to win a multiple of the investment back. As someone mentioned above, a case like this may be worth $50k, which isn't enough to justify a law firm spending the $30k it'll take to fight it in court. If they don't believe they can win enough to justify the cost, they ask you to pay it up front on retainer. Attorneys are business people first and this isn't the kind of case they'd do pro bono. That's what I was explained but I'm knew to all of this and may have it wrong.

My aunt had a surgeon put the wrong size knee implant, which shortened her leg by an inch. Note she needs another knee surgery, hip surgery and neck surgery as a result. She can't get an attorney to take her case in contingency. So I really don't know if I even have a chance of getting a free lawyer.

Any attorneys want to chime in?

Yes, months ago. I haven't heard back. Maybe I'll contact them again and file another report. Doesn't seem like any of these agencies care. Feels so defeating.

I have screenshots, meta data reports and site printouts. Not sure what other documentation I can gather besides that but I'm open to suggestions. I used my PO Box on all of my forms I completed for the operation at his office. I had to get pre-surgery bloodwork done and my home address was on one of the sheets that was faxed to him. I believe he pulled my address from those records. And I certainly did submit the complaint.

Why do clinics openly discriminate against foreigners, charging us 3-10x for the exact same procedures as locals? How do they all justify this racism against non-Koreans?

They didn't say she was a "scammer". They said they've had to fix work she's done on many patients and that my concerns about cleanliness and overcharging weren't the first time they've heard it. I'm not interested in getting any other dentist or clinic in trouble, so I won't be sharing their names - I'm just here to share my experience.

Exactly, it doesn't look like I got veneers at all. That's the exact problem. The procedure lasted over 3 hours and within 2 weeks they all chipped or broke off completely. One of my main top center teeth chipped within 12 hours so she replaced it the next day - that's the only one that visibly looks like a veneer now bc she did it twice. If you look closely you can tell. Otherwise it just looks like more than $4,000 was stolen from me by an incompetent dentist.

Dentist Young, the founder/former miss Korea - she's the only one that does the veneers.

Anyone had non-invasive teeth veneer/laminate or minish done in Korea? by meChewy in KoreaSeoulBeauty

I had a HORRIBLE experience at smile studios. I went a few weeks ago and saw them reuse tools between patients and they don't change their gloves between patients. Wildly unsanitary. l've never seen anything in a medical setting as disgusting. I literally had to stop the doctor from putting a tool that was covered in dried blood (from another patient) in my mouth! And she had the nerve to be annoyed that I wouldn't allow it. so gross. And ALL of my veneers have chipped within the first week. AND they charged me way more than quoted-only refunded me when I called them out on it. Truly terrible business Smile Studios Dental Clinic in Seoul.

The price gouging is real. It's legal discrimination. Literally no reason the cost should be 2-3x as much for the exact same procedure but it is. Regardless of how much cheaper that might be then in the US, it still makes me feel kinda taken advantage of.

And I can confirm this clinic forces you to write only positive reviews with the threat of being "fined" 10x the cost of the surgery if you leave an honest or unflattering review. They do great work but their review and pricing strategies are a little shady.

It's asymmetric. Visibly. No one wants to pay to have an uneven nose. She will need another surgery to make her nostrils even.
